Daily Fred Thompson Fact

Fred Thompson can always easily identify pod-people, Cylons, Skrulls, users of a polyjuice potion, replicants, people who are actually the Thing, and RINOs.

what the hell?

The RINOs are pretty easy to identify this year: all the candidates other than Fred Thompson (I don't think you can consider Hunter a candidate anymore, if you ever did).

"users of a polyjuice potion"

I got every other reference but this one. Anyone care to educate me?

#3 - Posted by: AR on January 6, 2008 11:52 AM

It's a pity Fred can't identify "People who can run a competent campaign" as easily.

It's a pity Fred can't identify "People who can run a competent campaign" as easily.

Excellent point JoeB131. Fred's campaign has been awful. Lots of people are making jokes about it and laughing at Fred Thompson and his sad die-hard supporters who never give up even though it is hopeless. A Google News search for Drop Dead Fred gives you Fred Thompson stories. It's pretty bad when your campaign becomes a freaking joke and people are constantly laughing at you.

Here's one example:

Fred Thompson - "a man who makes a hibernating tortoise seem like it's on crystal meth"

HA HA HA!!! That's a great one. There are many super funny jokes out there about Fred Thompson. He's become a laugh riot. I'm really enjoying it. You gotta love politics!!

Yes, yes we get it, your the same brain-dead person.
Also your attempt at self promotion is transparent.

#6 - Posted by: AR on January 6, 2008 12:50 PM

AR,

I'm not JoeB131. How do we know for sure that all of you posters are not actually Frank J. trying to make it look like there are actually Fred supporters out there? The polls certainly don't show that there are many. HA HA HA!

#7 - Posted by: TomL on January 6, 2008 01:05 PM

TomL...it's simple. We can take a look at your ip address.

#8 - Posted by: otcconan on January 6, 2008 01:41 PM

TomL...it's simple. We can take a look at your ip address.

ok, but that would just prove my point. My ip is not the same as JoeB131. All i did was agree with JoeB131 that Fred's campaign has sucked (it has) and now you think I am JoeB131? You people are weird.

#9 - Posted by: TomL on January 6, 2008 01:53 PM

#3 - Harry Potter reference. Potion that makes you look like another.

#7 - Posted by: TomL on January 6, 2008 01:05 PM

The way you write towards JoeB131 sure makes it look like your the same person. Though whether or not your physically the same person is irrelevant, your obviously the same brain-dead idiot.

#11 - Posted by: AR on January 6, 2008 02:29 PM

Founders, too.

/trekkie

Also, the constant accusations of Fred being a dead duck have reached the doth-protest-too-much point.
Democrats and the media (but I repeat myself), not to mention trolls (but I repeat myself but I repeat myself-self-elf-f) are very scared of him.

Sad thing is, a lot on the right side seem to be buying into this trope.

#12 - Posted by: Francesco Poli on January 6, 2008 02:38 PM

Can he detect the presence of i-Pod users and then choke them to death?

Nice DS9 reference Francesco.

#13 - Posted by: Mike T on January 6, 2008 02:52 PM

Sad thing is, a lot on the right side seem to be buying into this trope.

That's because it's true. You Fredheads are seeing signs of Fred winning SC that don't exist. All Fred is doing is sucking votes away from a GOP candidate who could potentially beat Huckabee. Fred Thompson is actually assisting Huckabee by staying in the race. Perhaps they have a secret arrangement? Huckabee-Thompson?

#14 - Posted by: TomL on January 6, 2008 02:55 PM

Fred Thompson can also easily identify iPod people.

#15 - Posted by: Igor R. on January 6, 2008 03:18 PM

It is a pity JoeB131. Sad. Rich Galen needs to go. Now. No better strategy but than to ride around in a bus and walk through some small Iowa town! What a waste of an excellent candidate! You'd think they would scour pro-Fred sites like this looking for good input and ideas and how they might better their campaigns. Because they certainly don't have a clue. But they're far too arrogant and full of themselves to do that. I hope FDT does something soon or he's going to go the way of Tancredo and Hunter. Both of these wonderful gentlemen had an excess of profound truth in their messages. But zero winning strategy!
The one good thing going for FDT is that none of the other GOP candidates has much of a strategy going for it either. The reason for the Huckabee win - pure entertainment value. His one-liners and bass gee'tar. Also, that raw-meat eater Ed Rollins didn't hurt. He's old school. But compared to FDT, Huck's message lacks substance. DD

#16 - Posted by: Darvin Dowdy on January 6, 2008 03:19 PM

Fred got in because there was a yearning for someone to really talk the talk on conservative values, and McCain, Romney and Guiliani weren't doing it.

The problem was that he waited far too long to get in. He was supposed to announce after Memorial Day, then 4th of July and finally waited until Labor Day. By that time, most of the real talent had committed to other campaigns.

So now that yearning has gone to Huck, who seems to have done a lot more with it.

Still, I would be very surprised if Huck won the nomination. A lot of the establishment is gunning for him. I think at the end of the day, we may be stuck with McCain as the nominee, as he is the least objectionable to all factions. Hillary or Obama will beat him easily.

#17 - Posted by: JoeB131 on January 6, 2008 04:51 PM

JoeB131, I wouldn't worry about McCain as the nominee. A clear mental case with a pre-existing mean streak and an unexplainable passion for Amnesty? Not from the South? Really, really old? Betrayed Bush on a lot of things other than Iraq? This piece of crap wouldn't be able to get elected as the head of the Republican space cadet academy.

#18 - Posted by: Igor R. on January 6, 2008 05:18 PM

I still say FRED! is staying under the radar. He'll show the nation the truth.

#19 - Posted by: cmblake6 on January 6, 2008 07:15 PM

I still say FRED! is staying under the radar. He'll show the nation the truth.

What a load of crap. He's already several states behind and his poll results suck for SC just like they did for Iowa. You can say Fred's going to win all you want but it is a futile exercise. Fred should drop out so one of the other guys has a chance to beat Huck. If Huck wins i'm gonna blame you Fredhead idiots. You guys are basically handing Huck the keys to the White House. Losers!

#20 - Posted by: TomL on January 6, 2008 07:53 PM

Before I rant, we're all missing the big story regarding a confession by the Puppy Blender -- http://instapundit.com/archives2/013773.php

What is up with everyone arguing that the candidates they don't like should just drop out? Please, this is America and this is the Republican Party. Competition is good. Quitting after a few political fanboys and girls vote in a few kitchens and churches in the small state of Iowa would be both stupid and un-American. Which is why Biden and Dodd immmediately withdrew. But for the rest of them? There is no reason for McCain or Thompson or Giuliani or Romney or Hunter or even the loony Paul to drop out after just one out in the first inning.

You know, you'd think that, but maybe not. McCain has a lot of advantages. 1) He's minimally acceptable to social, economic and security conservatives. 2) He's got more name recognition than anyone else, people who aren't thinking about this whole thing right now. 3) Republicans have a history of nominating people because it's "their turn" (i.e. Bob Dole in 1996). 4) His war record. Can't take that away from him. It's sad to say that out of a half-dozen candidates, we only have one who has distinguished himself in the feild of battle.

For myself, my first choice is Huck and my second is Fred, but I could support McCain. Romney and Guiliani are unacceptable. There are things he did I don't like- McCain-Feingold and McCain-Kennedy being two that come to mind. The fact he thinks terrorists should have civil rights bugs me. But I know he's bled and fought for this country, and I respect that.

#22 - Posted by: JoeB131 on January 6, 2008 08:29 PM

Oh ye of little faith! Fred is letting the master plan unfold. Watch as the pretenders like McPain and the Huckster tear each other to shreds and fall away and the only one left standing to take on the uppity negro will be Mr. Fred Thompson! That is if Mr. Obama isn't "Vince Fostered" by the Clinton's first... I saw Hillary get mad during the last debate and my balls really started to ache!

Really JoeB131? You mean Duncan Hunter didn't serve in Viet Nam? Check your facts!

#24 - Posted by: echo5a on January 7, 2008 09:33 AM

JoeB131, I understand your respect for him. Regardless of what his chances are, why do you think it's reasonable to support someone as a Presidential candidate because of his good deeds? Certainly his heroism stands for something, he has shown that he cares about the country in no uncertain terms. And yet if he has positions that would hurt this country a lot more than his personal heroism has helped it shouldn't we pick someone else?

I watched all three debates. In McCain I saw a man who is uncomfortable talking about immigration and when he does he reminds us what he really stands for. In my eyes there are only two issues that really matter: the fight with worldwide Islam and illegal immigration. Why do I say that? Because those are the only two that can PERMANENTLY damage the country, to the point where it's not recoverable. You can raise taxes all you want, you can kill the economy, but it will revive under the right conditions. But if you explode nuclear devices or import 40 million new citizens, over time, of a particular ethnic group that hasn't shown all that much propensity to assimilate, you do permanent damage.

Fred is just so perfect in what he understands. It was painful for me to watch when the focus group after yesterday's debate was so much against him. It's understandable in a state that he pretty much ignored, but still: are these people fools? Can they not figure out that the perceived energy level is far less important than what ends that energy level is applied towards?

Just think about it.

I'm sorry, is Duncan Hunter still in the race? I guess I hadn't noticed him... (Really, I don't waste a lot of time looking at people in single digits in the polls)

#26 - Posted by: JoeB131 on January 8, 2008 04:06 AM

25- Igor

I'm not fond of McCain for a lot of his stands. However, that said, I find a lot of this anti-immigrant nonsense to be a little disturbing. Yes, we need to secure the borders, but some of the 12 million already here are going to eventually become citizens. Reconcile yourself to that inevitable truth. We simply aren't going to be able to deport 12 million people. Even Fred Thompson has said as much.

I guess I have a different view on immigration. On my paternal side, my father was born in Germany and immigrated here as a baby in 1925. On my mother's side, I am 1/8 Cherokee indian. So I can both say that I am a son of an immigrant, and that I can see the whole lot of you as immigrants.

The problem I see with the current immigration is that they aren't assimiliating, which is what you need to keep immigration healthy. Some aren't because they have no intention to stay here. They're just building up enough money to make themselves comfortable and they'll go home. Others are just not bothering because they've built a sub-culture in certain sectors.

YOu know what, though, I served with hispanics in the military and lived in the same neighborhoods as them, and you know what, they aren't all that much different from you.

I certainly don't see immigration as being as dangerous as the Islamofascists, as you seem to.

A final note. If you got to RealClearpolitics.com, McCain is the only guy who polls consistantly well against Clinton and Obama. Not sure if that means all that much at this point, but there it is.
