I Think We Were All More Tortured by the Constant Whining About Waterboarding
Posted by Frank J. at 03:27 PM | View blog reactions | Comments (48)

It's confirmed: Three terrorists were waterboarded by the CIA five years ago out of fears of an imminent threat. That's it. No others. Yet how much time have we spent worrying over this technique that causes no lasting harm?

There are people out there who want to kill us. Wake up, dumbasses. If we can't even be slightly serious about fighting bad people, then its over for us.

I should mention that McCain is one of the leaders on the "waterboarding must be stopped!" distraction -- another strike against him.

Don't forget the Democrats who were briefed and watched the video asked if this - waterboarding- was enough.

#2 - Posted by: on February 5, 2008 03:41 PM

This is the thing about McCain that I have a problem with. He regularly comes out on issues sounding like a hysterical shrieking lefty that clearly didn't read all the way to the bottom of the page.

#3 - Posted by: neocon cowgirl on February 5, 2008 03:41 PM

Want hot pron?

#4 - Posted by: on February 5, 2008 03:42 PM

I'm sure that the late journalist, Daniel Perl, would have preferred waterboarding to the fate he suffered (or having underwear put on his head for that matter).

Awaken dumbasses indeed.

If there is a silver lining however, it keeps the gun grabbers distracted and wasting their time on this type of piffle.

#5 - Posted by: Rightjabs on February 5, 2008 03:51 PM

This is an issue that I disagree with McCain on. I think nothing should be taken off the table when protecting us from terrorists.

However, I think his position on it is based on the fact that he was tortured by the North Vietnamese. HIs position was that when tortured, he intentionally gave the NV false information. (He listed the starting lineup of the Green Bay Packers as members of his squadron.)

If you ban torture, it will simply be driven underground. Local commanders and agents will still use it and then cover it up. If you are open about it and keep controls, you can limit it to cases where it is actually justified.

WANT PRON? LESBIAN PRON!

#7 - Posted by: on February 5, 2008 03:59 PM

So when are the congressional hearings going to start on the waterboarding by TV Networks, Newspapers and Anti-War Activists?

I figure those three groups have waterboarded at least a dozen US Citizens for propaganda purposes, which seems worse than the CIA waterboarding 3 terrorists in order to save lives.

#8 - Posted by: Ospurt on February 5, 2008 04:05 PM

Don't worry, if Obama gets through, this won't be an issue; he'll use friendly persuasion. He can always gain their confidence by sharing stories about his wacky adventures in the madrassa.

#9 - Posted by: juggernaut on February 5, 2008 04:07 PM

If we don't waterboard 'em, who's gonna do it?

To paraphrase the great and wise Nelson Munz, "Gotta waterboard something".

#10 - Posted by: cptnmoroni on February 5, 2008 04:19 PM

I also want my money back. I pay taxes for dead or tortured terrorists. If the CIA isn't torturing those nimrods in Guantanamo, I want my portion of the taxes back so I can give it to somebody who will take their waterboarding responsibilities seriously. 3 waterboarded terrorists is not enough. It's time we demand more.

#11 - Posted by: cptnmoroni on February 5, 2008 04:22 PM

the fact that he was tortured by the North Vietnamese. HIs position was that when tortured, he intentionally gave the NV false information. (He listed the starting lineup of the Green Bay Packers as members of his squadron.)

I wonder how many Green Bay Packers were tortured because of his lies? Probably thousands, maybe even millions! If he can't tell the truth under duress, how's he gonna do it under oath!?

Hot, lesbian prawn.

Are there any Japanese restaurants with gay shrimp on the menu?

Suppose there were someone attempting to extort the freedom of all the terrorists in the world. by publicly threatening to detonate a superdioxyhypernuclearolical weapon which would destroy everyone who didn't live in caves. He's taken into custody, but oddly enough the threat of a long prison sentence doesn't get him to talk.

If torturing that one person would prevent the deaths of billions of people (and possibly all life on Earth), would that be ok? It would to me.

I wouldn't favor torture to prevent someone from spitting on the sidewalk.

Somewhere between the superdioxyhypernuclearolical destruction of the race and public mastication there is a line, above which torture would be acceptable and below which it would not.

Apparently for liberals the line is above keeping the fellow who planned 9/11 from continuing his important work.

#14 - Posted by: Socrates on February 5, 2008 04:47 PM

... I want my portion of the taxes back so I can give it to somebody who will take their waterboarding responsibilities seriously.

There ought to be a checkoff box on the 1040:

Do you want $3 to go to A) Presidential campaign fund or B) Terrorist Torture fund? This will not your total tax, except it could keep us from having to rebuild Miami.

#15 - Posted by: Socrates on February 5, 2008 04:53 PM

"superdioxyhypernuclearolical"

as opposed to:

superdioxyhypernuclearological

I think my variation would blow up in their faces better. :-) LOL

It ain't even torture! If a "victim" can walk away with the only aftereffects being an adrenalin rush and maybe a little booger in his mustache, can't say I pity him.

Maybe I'm just old-school but shouldn't torture, if done properly, at least leave a bruise. I mean really, these whiney little terrorists still have twenty digits! what's all the complaining about? Ohhh Muhammed got a swirly! Call the ACLU.

#26 - Posted by: hwy93 on February 5, 2008 06:29 PM

Well, that's disappointing. We might be doing a lot better by now if we did this to all of them.

#29 - Posted by: Jimmy on February 5, 2008 06:58 PM

in the interest of torture, the terrorists should be subjected to intense sessions of be sat in front of some combined senate/house commitee for days where they are repeatedly taken to task over inane subjects and endless bloviating by pompous ass windbags. most of all asked the same question several thousand ways by dumicrats and rinos who have absolutely no clue as to how the real works. yet i'm sure they will find some common bond to the no so smart bomb and will let him go his merry way to do it all over again.

#30 - Posted by: morigu on February 5, 2008 07:05 PM

It is all doublespeak. Here is what you get when you play General Hayden's testimony backwards:

After we realized that waterboarding wasn't severe enough and might not work for the jihadi mosque goers (sorry about the redundancy), we turned to the techniques perfected by the NYPD. References: Abner Luima (raped with a plunger) and Amado Diallo (shot 41 times for reaching for his wallet). This second case is a variation of what Delta Force calls the double tap. Putting a second round in someone to make sure he is dead.

Unfortunately, we destroyed the tapes of our advanced interrogation techniques and I am getting a case of I do not recall-itis.

God Bless America.
-----------------------------------------------
I was skeptical of the new leadership up there at CIA until I took a look at the leadership biography of the former executive director of the CIA: Vice Admiral Al Calland a former BUDS (Basic Underwater Demolition School Instructor) and Navy Seal team CO. We are in good hands my fellow Americans. We know that the Naval Academy Motto is Honor, Courage, Commitment. Noting that it doesn't say anything about honesty before the Senate Select Commitee on Intelligence.

Don't let the smoke and mirrors make you second guess the nature of CIA extraordinary rendition and detention. Things are running smoothly. God Bless.

However, remember that Skull and Bones is not sponsoring this election which means we could have an uncertain outcome that leads to communism. Witness history unfold and the fall and rise of communism in your lifetime. JW

#5 - Posted by: Rightjabs on February 5, 2008 03:51 PM

On the contrary, we have been distracted, and the gun grabbers have been quite busy, and working behind the scenes. Check out HR2640 which congress passed in December and Bush signed into law last month. It is being called the Veterans Disarmament Act by most gun rights groups.

mastication = chewing
expectoration = spitting

Personally, I don't have a problem with someone chewing on the sidewalk.

#34 - Posted by: echo5a on February 5, 2008 08:59 PM

#26 - Posted by: hwy93 on February 5, 2008 06:29 PM

I don't think there has been any ruling on swirlies. I say we treat all terrorists to swirlies... Right before their executions.

#35 - Posted by: echo5a on February 5, 2008 09:06 PM

hahaha. swirlies. that'd probly work actually....

but I would like to say that waterboarding is completely uneffective now. It's been so well publicized (Dems, not McCain yet) that all terror training camps waterboard their trainees and teach them to deal with it. They know it doesn't do anything to them. So it's ineffectual.

McCain's position has nothing to do with the fact that he was tortured or because he doesn't want to infringe on the crazies human rights. Only humans get human rights so they don't deserve any anyway.
It's not something to hate him over. I mean, you can find other reasons but don't make this one it.

IMAO hooking their franks 'n' beans to jumper cables is the next step. preferably with the other end hooked up to some kind of monster truck.

#37 - Posted by: BlackwaterJon on February 5, 2008 09:54 PM

Doesn't waterboarding just make you FEEL like you're being drowned, but you're not actually being drowned? So.. erm... yeah. Nothing actually happens to them, right. So, uhh, yeah.... where's the problem?!

#38 - Posted by: Hannah on February 5, 2008 09:58 PM

I LOVE waterboarding. Course, they've always had shrimp in the water. De-veined of course, no tail fins, no head. Just the delicious shrimp meat.

I would have preferred some cocktail sauce, extra heavy on the horseradish, but you can't have everything eh?

OTOH, the waterboarding was performed by a totally HOT girl in her underwear. I pretended to be offended. Damn it was beautiful.

I'm ready anytime folks !

Echo5a, Maybe you meant "running" the Pentagon. Thanks for the article. No wonder we are balking on invading Iran. I think it is safe to say that Gordon England's office in The Pentagon is now overun by jihadis. Here are my thoughts on the recent ODNI Threat Assessment (posted on the Investigative Tab (blog) over at www.abcnews.go.com :

Can you say Joint-Venture? My guess is that Al Qaeda has a man or two that knows something about Mergers and Aquisitions, maybe an MBA or two. Since Iran was such a good supplier of intelligence and weapons to blow our boys up in Iraq, why not consider future collaberation? My guess is that is just what is happening with the intensification of the action in Pakistan (especially Waziristan), a Joint Venture between Iran and Al Qaeda to acquire Nuclear Weapons. This is the proverbial make or buy decision so popular among the management types. Don't be suprised if Al Qaeda preps the country for a full scale civil war and when we are distracted with stamping out opium in Afghanistan and to afraid to tip toe into harms way in Pakistan, we watch as Revolutionary Guards demonstrate some shock and awe of their own. Again to afraid to #### off Musharef and his cronies under their Nuclear Umbrella. Playing on our fears and all that diplomatic nonsense, Al Qaeda will begin by assualting a Nuclear Weapons magazine in Pakistan and aquiring a device or two for themselves. Feel free to either staple these comments to the Threat Assesment for a more thourough document or cc McConnell with the contents of this blog. 1500 analysts and they can't figure anything out. What is wrong with this picture? I hope this server survives Al Qaeda strikes number one and two so that I can log in and tell you I told you so. I suppose you will tell me that you don't see any evil, right? God Bless and I hope Jesus comes back soon to cure your blindness. JW

Well Joe I'll just bet your parents are proud of you. I know that if my child were a bigot and intolerant I'd be bursting with pride.

Just a clue when Jesus said love your neighbor he didn't add, except for the (fill in the blanks) I think he gives us a pass for not loving people who are trying to kill us, but everybody else is still in the list.

If you don't believe in Jesus then why do you care what someone's religion is. One would figure the Huckster would be the greater risk as he is more than happy to force his religious views on everyone. Last time I looked Mass. was still pretty much agnostic, now surge of "filthy Mormon" baptisms there.

If you do believe stop acting like the typical religious bigot stereotype that gives all people of faith a bad name. (and no my magic underwear is not in a bunch so try a new insult and get over yourself.)

I don't think banning torture will force it underground. For one thing, Local commanders never torture. The just don't want to. The only people who did waterboarding was the CIA. And as the New York Times shows us, nothing can be kept a secret there.

You are addressing this "I told you so" to the al Qaida bots in the DoD and other agencies right? Because I'm on board with you that they are not seeing the obvious 800 lb. gorilla or even the explosive laden guerilla in their midst.

#46 - Posted by: echo5a on February 6, 2008 06:31 PM

haha I AM suspicious of those who call Islam a religion of peace! Amazing deduction, right?

But a dear friend studied the Koran as if he were a Muslim (he's not) and it's true. They want a theocracy--at any costs. Last time I checked, there's no violent demand to make the USA a Christian theocracy.

For the record, I have to problem with you if you're a Muslim. What I have a problem with are the Muslims that want us to bow down before them and submit to Sharia law. Because it'd be just wonderful to be punished for getting gang raped. Where are all the feminists and human rights activists on that?! Oh right. Protesting the war -_-
