I found the congressional hearings and its coverage by the MSM to be a huge waste of time on an issue that has zero relevance in the political world. I personally dont giva eff if professional atheletes use performance enhancing substances. I look at professional sports as just another form of entertainment, its relevance in my world is equal to that of an episode of the Simpsons or the latest slasher movie in the theaters. The athletes (like actors) ae not role models or heros, the are people that play a GAME to provide entertainment. Thier collective contribution to society is meager at best.

Yeah, Terrible, and I'm still trying to figure out why we keep voting to build billion dollar stadiums when our bridges, highways and waterfronts are falling apart. Guess the big boys figure we're all idiots (and apparently, we are!) and need our constant dose of "sports" to keep us happy and paying taxes for this $hit. That's the problem with lefties. (political that is) They are not comfortable in their own thoughts. They recognize that they harbor thoughts that are not pure. These impure thoughts drive them to embrace political correctness to make up for their own perceived failings. They seek to control everyone's speech because of their failure to control their own minds. They just can't accept who they are. They don't realize that it is the conscience that prevents us from acting improperly regardless of the thoughts that enter our minds. Guilt ridden lefties need to recognize that they can't rid the world of evil by imposition of thought and speech codes. An occasional trip to the range wouldn't hurt either. Sending lead downrange is truely theraputic.

Wanted to thank you for the kind words in a previous post. I guess that although I thought I could be objective about verbal abuse, I was wrong. It took a little while to get the objectionable taste out of my mouth, but I'm endeavoring to find "teh funny" again.

I enjoy most of the humor here, and even enjoy the occasional troll sighting, but mostly I enjoy reading the posts of people with some life experience and common sense. Every now and then it get a little randy, but people will be people ( I'd say boys will be boys but don't want to offend).

What Im really not getting today, the whole Kosova Indepedence from Serbia thing. I am by no means an expert on the subject. but I think it could be a case study in what happens when immigrants fail to assimilate. Here's how i understand it.

Serbia and Albania are seperate countries. (Serbia lies to the north) Within Serbia there is an area that has become the home to a population that identifies itself as "ethnic" Albanians. I dont know when or how the migration began (long term / short term). These same ethnic Albaninas also happen to be predominantly muslim. While being the majority in the area that they reside they are still a minority in Serbia. Im not sure why, or how it started, but apprently in the 90's they pissed off the serbian govt. Who commenced to kicking thier ass in a most heinous fashion. This angered the "civilised" nations and caused the UN to war against the Serbians. That the serbians waged a very unethical brand of warfare was well documented. Now we fast forward to years of the UN being present in the region and of coure the development of the EU. The Albanians have decided to declare secession from Serbia with the support of the UN and the EU. Serbia opposes the secession with the support of Russia. It is reported that the UN and EU will "recognize" the newly formed independant state tommorow. Here's my thing...

Imagine if you will the majority population of a state ... oh I dont know... lets pick New Mexico being Hispanic. And lets further imagine, that they decide that they are going to seceed from the Union because they dont have enough representation in the US govt. Would the UN and EU "recognize" the New govt? Would the attempt at secession provoke a military response on behalf of the US govt? And would you consider the recognition by the EU and UN provocative? What message, if any, does this send to other nations and ethnic groups?

What do you folks think? And I repeat, I freely admit to not being entirely up to speed on this situation. Now Im not seeing the equity in this thing.

As for New Mexico, forget it; it's almost a lost cause as far as American statehood is concerned. Bill Richardson is half Caucasian but he's "all Latino". A lot of the local convenience stores (All of the Circle-K's, in this instance) proudly display the fact that they gladly accept pesos along with US currency. They will not accept a credit card or check from an English speaking American citizen without an ID, but pesos are OK.
