...So we got school off for Martin Luther King, Jr. Day, but not President's Day. More seriously, thanks to all the Presidents (even Carter and Clinton) for their service. The Presidency is a job in which the President frequently doesn't know whether he's done the right thing until it's too late, and, since it involves things other than drinking beer, writing software, and listening to Mozart, it isn't one that I'd want to have, although the oppportunity to get close enough to Harry Reid to give him the grandfather of all wedgies is tempting. I'm old enough to remember when we celebrated both Lincoln's and Washington's birthdays and got school off for both. Here's a special thank you to George Washington for the immense modesty, integrity, and self-discipline that he manifested in, first refusing to be made king, and, second, resigning after his second term, thus refusing to be a de facto king.
