If Obama Gets His Way, Only Johnny Depp Will Have Guns
Obama wants to ban all semi-automatic firearms? What isn't a semi-automatic firearm? Those pistols pirates use? Not only that, but Barrack Obama only recognizes civilian gun ownership for "hunting and target shooting." So the reason the Founding Father put in the 2nd Amendment is because they really liked target shooting? Seriously, though, we need to start getting in people's heads that self-defense is the most fundamental human right. I wouldn't trust anyone who doesn't understand that. 67 Responses To "If Obama Gets His Way, Only Johnny Depp Will Have Guns"
Some states have "Compacts" with the United States of America regarding their statehood and the 2nd Amendment. The US Supreme Court case Heller v. D.C. is being watched very closely: Montana's Compact/Warning with US #1 - Posted by: Jimmy on February 22, 2008 12:10 PMSo when a thief or some government thug comes a'calling, do I have to ask them to wear a target before I shoot them? #2 - Posted by: Bob on February 22, 2008 12:18 PMReminds me of this Ken Blackwell piece. My guess with the "semi-automatic" ban comment is that, like most libs, Obama just has never seen a gun in his life and knows nothing about them, and figured that a semi-automatic is like an automatic, only it shoots half as fast. #3 - Posted by: James on February 22, 2008 12:20 PMAddendum: not sure if this is where I saw it or not, but I wanted to make sure everybody heard it. My impression of Obama's "hope and change": "Ladies and gentlemen, this is the greatest country on the face of the Earth. I hope you'll help me change that." #4 - Posted by: James on February 22, 2008 12:28 PMGo search 'gun control witness' on youtube. That is what the 2nd amendment is all about. #5 - Posted by: Buzz on February 22, 2008 12:33 PMBut he's still cool with IEDs right? Or does that just apply to his buddies? #6 - Posted by: juggernaut on February 22, 2008 12:34 PM....from my cold dead hands... For a liberal, self-defense just does not compute. That's why liberalism is a suicide bomb: it will kill the liberal and all those around him. #8 - Posted by: The Interface on February 22, 2008 12:41 PMBut, what if I'm hunting thugs and ATF agents? #9 - Posted by: glockman on February 22, 2008 12:48 PMI wonder what his stance is on gatling guns. I think I'll go buy a gatling gun just in case. Plus, I might someday have to hunt a whole flock of geese and I can't afford a shotgun. #10 - Posted by: cptnmoroni on February 22, 2008 01:06 PMSounds like the sort of thing that will naturally lead to the formation of a violent gun-toting vigilante militia. Might as well, right? Of course, in my mind most things naturally lead to gun-toting militias; like raising the price of stamps, reality tv, or cancelling The X-Files. I should probably talk to someone about that,…… buuuuuuut I won’t. #11 - Posted by: juggernaut on February 22, 2008 01:14 PMChanneling Charlton Heston "You can have my gun when you pry it from my cold dead fingers." We may be looking at a new Civil War. Same issues, individual and states rights vs federal nanny staters which were never really solved. I know what side I'll fall on, the one opposite the side the NYMimes is on. #12 - Posted by: seanmahair on February 22, 2008 01:26 PMSo here's the deal: Obama wants to ban guns that aren't used for "hunting and target shooting." OK, well, let's think about this: I use every one of my guns for target shooting. I consider it useless to have a firearm at hand if I am not very familiar with the workings of said firearm and the capabilities of it in my hand. Therefore, everything from my .270 Remington Model 700 to my Kel-Tec .380 has been used as a "target shooting" gun. And I'll be honest, whenever somebody breaks into my house, I'm exercising in "target shooting" in order to protect life and property.
well, given a choice between voting for an Irish man and a Scot - always pick the Scot. #14 - Posted by: on February 22, 2008 01:48 PMJames, good cite on Blackwell. He's currently a candidate for the Board of the NRA. #15 - Posted by: comatus on February 22, 2008 01:52 PMWe need guns to shoot all those Other Nates. #16 - Posted by: Nate on February 22, 2008 01:57 PMI think I could hunt & shoot targets pretty well with an AA-12. And I swear, I'd only use the full auto mode as not to violate semi-automatic restrictions. #17 - Posted by: AlanABQ on February 22, 2008 02:20 PMNate - Why are you even on this website? It hasn't changed in years. They still support the continuous death of our troops in a pointless war. They still love how Bush screws over the middle class by helping out giant multinational corporations. They still love polluting Planet Earth and letting children die from asthma and other diseases. They would rather let other countries use embryonic stem cells and advance far ahead of the U.S. in health and scientific research. Whatever Rush Limbaugh tells them to love they love like the blind ignorant sheep they are. They still can't see that the media has branded Bush a strict conservative and that this branding has destroyed the conservative movement and halted it firmly in its tracks - possibly for the rest of their pathetic lives. You are just wasting your time here. You won't learn anything from these people. I'm trying to help you Nate. Listen to me. Trust in me. I am your true web friend. Go to this website and you can get all the political news you need. Still they do love romantic poetry here. Keep posting it. #18 - Posted by: Sarcasm Man on February 22, 2008 02:22 PM#2 Bob- "So when a thief or some government thug comes a'calling, do I have to ask them to wear a target before I shoot them?" Not if they're in season, I guess. #19 - Posted by: McBain on February 22, 2008 02:23 PM#2 Bob- "So when a thief . . . comes a'calling, do I have to ask them to wear a target before I shoot them?" Not if they're in season, I guess. AlanBQ, you go to great lengths to respect the laws of this land. You are a true patriot, sir. I would also like to comply with said legislation, so I'm trying to choose between the flintlock and the M40. Choices, choices. #21 - Posted by: juggernaut on February 22, 2008 02:28 PMOh so beautiful the roses. Firearms are a lost cause. Bojutsu leads the way. #23 - Posted by: Effeminem on February 22, 2008 02:42 PMI will be stopping on my way home tonight and buting 2 or 3 single action revolvers to help defend all of my semi-automatics. When the ATF comes I will have one in each cold dead hand #24 - Posted by: on February 22, 2008 02:54 PMWhere is PeaceNinja? I expected him to show up a while ago... and Sarcasm Man, your name rings true. #25 - Posted by: RedWhiteAndTrue on February 22, 2008 03:07 PMAfter reading Nates "poem" I'm going to go buy another hand gun and stock up on plenty of ammo so I'm ready for Obama's jack booted thugs... #26 - Posted by: ussjimmycarter on February 22, 2008 03:21 PMRTW, "Well" as Uncle Ronny would say, "there you go again Helen". Gee and just when I thought we were getting a different style of Trolls : ( #27 - Posted by: seanmahair on February 22, 2008 03:40 PMI agree single shot shotguns can be as harmful as a semi automatic, even when hunting. #28 - Posted by: patrick on February 22, 2008 03:44 PMThank Guns It's Friday! #29 - Posted by: Jimmy on February 22, 2008 03:48 PMAfter reading Nates "poem" I'm going to go buy another hand gun and stock up on plenty of ammo so I'm ready for Obama's jack booted thugs... Nothing in my poem suggests purchasing weapons. I think you read something into it that isn't there. #30 - Posted by: Nate on February 22, 2008 04:02 PMWhere is PeaceNinja? I expected him to show up a while ago psst, he did show up. #31 - Posted by: on February 22, 2008 04:08 PMWell, if semi-autos are banned I'll just have to convert the AR & AK to full auto. #32 - Posted by: Raving Lunatic on February 22, 2008 04:13 PMI'm sure I'll get flack on this but with the SS pulling back on security for Obama it just has to be said. The data on who shoots who is this country is rather telling. Now if I were the Obama campaign I'd be concerned. It isn't some angry old white guy who's a threat. After all according to our very own Justice Department "From 1976 to 2005 -- 86% of white victims were killed by whites Just a thought. #33 - Posted by: seanmahair on February 22, 2008 04:14 PMI promise not to discriminate when someone knocks on the door to confiscate my guns. #34 - Posted by: Jimmy on February 22, 2008 04:26 PMWhy are you still here, Sarcasm Man? Sarcasm is mean, and I don't like mean people. Everyone else here seems to share that sentiment in regards to you. Perhaps a lobotomy would help you become a nice person like it helped me. #35 - Posted by: Nate on February 22, 2008 04:28 PMThat data probably follows the people are most likely to be killed by someone they know logic. A crazed gunman at a rally is probably not going to be someone Obama knows personally so the interesting data you found may not apply. #36 - Posted by: Sarcasm Man on February 22, 2008 04:29 PMWhy yes, Sarcasm Man - we do exactly what Rush Limbaugh tells us. We all buy Oxycontin and ship it to him via UPS. We don't let all children die from asthma and other diseases - just the poor ones. What else are they good for? #37 - Posted by: cptnmoroni on February 22, 2008 04:41 PMWhy are you still here, Sarcasm Man? Why are any of us here? I've always been here and I never have. I'm time that has stopped and started again and been rewound. I'm everyone and I'm no one. I can't leave anymore than I can stay. I can stay longer than I am unwelcomed and I can stay much more than I am banned. I'm logical where logic does not exist and illogical where logic is needed. Where are any of us at any time or place? We are nothing if not an argument or a thought or a fact or the truth or a lie. The fleshy blood bits that surround our thoughts are the same as the thoughts that our fleshy blood bits surround. I am the same as each and everyone of you. I am nothing yet something. I come and go not as you please and I leave exactly when it would most not please you for me to do so. We are nothing but thoughts and everything except thoughts. We are a thought trapped in a moment. We change as quickly as time permits but no less than time allows. #38 - Posted by: Sarcasm Man on February 22, 2008 04:44 PMKids dying of asthma - what the hell are you talking about? I think all the kids I let die had pneumonia, or something like that - what am I, a doctor? #39 - Posted by: juggernaut on February 22, 2008 04:46 PMOkay, now I know Sarcasm Man is fake - no one can be that much of a dumbass for real. It's gotta be Frank screwing with us. Well, Frank or that freak-of-nature professor that taught one of my literature classes in college. In that case; what did you think of the assessment form I filled out about your class noting your ineptitude and your petty way of injecting your polititcs into everything that you let get in the way of teaching anything? #40 - Posted by: juggernaut on February 22, 2008 04:56 PMHeh heh - Sarcasm Man is deep, dude. #41 - Posted by: cptnmoroni on February 22, 2008 05:01 PMSarcasm Man: He is but he isn't !! And... wait for it... He's Quantum Man! Plus he's transcendental AND irrational ! Ha ha ha. He's a math function!! The good thing is that he disappears asymptotically to infinity. And beyond. Oh, I could keep going, but I've cracked myself up. Thanks for the laugh. Happy weekend everyone! #42 - Posted by: Jimmy on February 22, 2008 05:06 PMI posted the link so that it would be easy for everyone to read and interpret. Read further down the page to see the date extrapolated as to who does what to who. While I agree that many people kill those they know, Most of the rabid conservatives I know are smart enough to know that making a martyr out of someone is stupid in the extreme. You can't disprove the ideas of a ghost. Hence the largely mythological views of JFK, FDR, and a multitude of other "martyrs". Men are just men, all are flawed. It is in how we handle those flaws and how honest we are about them that true leaders and heros are made. None of the current crop of political opportunists make the grade. #43 - Posted by: seanmahair on February 22, 2008 05:09 PMIf Obama gets selected President, I suspect there will be many cases of people suddenly "losing" their guns, as well as their stockpiles of ammo. Might not be a bad idea, you know, to "lose" one or two guns a year... Just a thought. #44 - Posted by: steadyrock on February 22, 2008 05:14 PMSarcasm Man is mean! Quantum mechanics makes my head hurt, and only meanies hurt other people. #45 - Posted by: Nate on February 22, 2008 05:17 PMSomewhere in the far off future in a hotel room on the Texas / Mexico border: - Sarcasm Man: And you know what's going to happen now. You should admit your situation. There would be more dignity in it. WAL: You go to hell. Sarcasm Man: Let me ask you something. If the rule you followed brought you to this, of what use was the rule? WAL: Do you have any idea how goddamn crazy you are? Sarcasm Man: You mean the nature of this conversation? WAL: I mean the nature of you. [Sarcasm Man looks unapprovingly] WAL: I mean you're a f'ng psychopath, quit staring at me! [The low chug of shotgun] . . . Sarcasm Man: What was that you were saying about katanas? #46 - Posted by: WAL on February 22, 2008 05:40 PMI think Sarcasm Man must have gotten attacked by conservatives today. It's the only thing that explains #38. Plus, he started posting under his actual screen name instead of his mythical creation, Nate. The moral of the story, people, is stay off the internet if you've been attacked by conservatives. #47 - Posted by: Ernie Loco on February 22, 2008 06:27 PMFor someone who could supposedly get shot at a gas station (as stated so eloquently by his moronic wife) Barack should understand the need for self defense. Obviously he hires people to do that. Wonder where they are gonna get their guns. Maybe we should all get some red coats and White-haired wigs. Then you can load your musket while i fire mine. It'll be a grand ol' time. #48 - Posted by: Dave W on February 22, 2008 06:30 PMLooks like I need to update my budget to include a few handgun purchases over the next year. Anyone know a gun store with the Walther PPS in stock? #49 - Posted by: Rhia on February 22, 2008 07:26 PMNate, I lurk here daily, but post occasionally (I have a real job, paying your disability income). How do you keep up and type so quickly with one hand? Is mommy or some member of NAMBLA in the basement with you? #50 - Posted by: on February 22, 2008 08:33 PMAnonymous, There are lots of people here posting as Nate so that may be why it seems I post so frequently. Here is a little test that will help you decide. The answer can be found by posing the following question: You're walking down a deserted street with your wife and two small children. Suddenly, an Islamic Terrorist with a huge knife comes around the corner, locks eyes with you, screams obscenities, praises Allah, raises the knife, and charges at you. You are carrying a Glock cal 40, and you are an expert shot. You have mere seconds before he reaches you and your family. What do you do? ................................................................. .................................................. .................................................. Daughter: Nice grouping, Daddy! Were those the Winchester Silver Tips or Hollow Points? Son: Can I shoot the next one! Wife: You Ain't hanging that in my living room. #58 - Posted by: compugor on February 23, 2008 09:19 AMYou know I just love it when the Nannies visit. We are now supposed to outlaw illness, age, accidents, and anything else that causes liberal guilt. Here's a clue "LIFE IS NOT FAIR". Sometimes bad things happen to good people, sometimes bad things happen to bad people (not as often for sure). Some people actually do things without thinking about the consequences, and many are surprise when the results are less than pleasant. In this country at least EVERYONE has the opportunity to progress, whether they take advantage of it or not. To paint all conservatives with such a wide brush Sarcy is to demean the members of your own tribe. If all conservative are......... mean, nasty, rotten et cetera, what hypocritical like Michael Moore, mean and disgusting like Al Frankin, plagiarists like Joe Biden, addicted to sex like Bill Clinton, drunken lechers like Teddy Kennedy or stupid and naive like Jimma' Carter. What is sauce for the goose, is sauce for the gander. Only in a liberal utopia can you have it both ways, in reality you have to make a choice. (keep it clean folks, that's not what I meant) #59 - Posted by: seanmahair on February 23, 2008 09:35 AMOh so beautiful the roses. Oh how I stare at them and want to hold them. When they come to take away our guns, most of the people in here will be staring UP at the roses. Because they will have to kill us first. We have 90 acres and our house is on a hill. I can see someone coming from (literally) a mile away. I am ever vigilant. There is a Browning pump 12-guage in the closet. There is a Chilean Mauser with a Leopould scope at the front door. And there is always a 1911 on my hip. They WILL pry them from my cold dead hands. But there will be many of THEM with cold dead hands. You think people will stand up and FIGHT?! Burning a mexican flag is the waste of a good match. With more to lose, a more specific cause, and the prospect of a more definitive plan of action (ranging from protests, through voting and recall petitions, to...whatever), there might be a more rigorous response than you obtained with your attempt to protest illegals. Besides, with an estimated 0.9 firearms for every person in the US, confiscation may be a more difficult process to implement than the optimists in the gun snatch camp perceive. Which brings up a point. If the average for gun ownership in the US is 0.9 per person, and I don't have any, then some of the correspondents here are obviously being selfish at my expense. If I were a liberal, I'd demand redress for that. #62 - Posted by: George on February 23, 2008 05:12 PMSome people will stand and fight, BLC, and it would be glorious. The question is will we have to? Cause if I'm reduced to fightin' to preserve the 2nd Amendment and my right to bear arms, I intend to see to it that a whole lot of people are removed from the gene pool before me. And these aren't just words. #63 - Posted by: Regular Poster on February 23, 2008 06:01 PMPeople do stand up and fight, everyday. They are members of the armed services, police, and fire fighters. They fight the bad guys here and abroad and all they ask is that those of us they serve and protect have their backs, that we elect honest, honorable people who know the meaning of the word integrity. So in one sense BLC is right, we have let them down. We have allowed the infidels to take over the city. In November we have another chance to do the right thing. Research the candidates, listen, read, PAY ATTENTION, and then vote. Throw out those who would trample the constitution, spit on the flag and abuse our military. It's time for "a little revolution". Jefferson would be proud. #64 - Posted by: seanmahair on February 23, 2008 11:27 PMif I'm reduced to fightin' to preserve the 2nd Amendment and my right to bear arms, I intend to see to it that a whole lot of people are removed from the gene pool before me. And these aren't just words. #63 - Posted by: Regular Poster on February 23, 2008 06:01 PM When we write our new constitution, The current 2nd ammendment should be included in the core articles, not an ammendment. If it becomes necessary to take up arms to preserve the 2nd, we should probably start with laying siege on D.C. This would be a real civil war, unlike what we commonly refer to as the American civil war, where the struggle was not for control of the existing country, but to create a separate one. Let's hope it doesn't come to that, because civil wars are the nastiest of all. I would much rather fly 10,000 miles to smoke a camel jockey than pull the trigger on a neighbor, or family member. Sadly, civil wars are sometimes necessary, as are revolutions. Citizens should be the sovereigns, and the elected should be subject to them. Our elect today do not seem to grasp this concept. You guys seriously CANNOT let Obama do this! I read that article, and what he supports is practically the EXACT system we have in Canada, and trust me - it sucks. Beyond reason. #66 - Posted by: Emily on February 24, 2008 04:42 AMHow many people must I bayonet to let them know that I'm keeping ALL of my guns? Post a comment
