Juggernaut was referring to JFK's accomplishments as president. He didn't do much, besides the fact that he just happened to be the president while the Cuban Missile Crisis occurred. Had that not happened, and had he not been assassinated, he would have been another Carter.

Now, let's see: JFK: seriously launched our space program, cut taxes, took on big steel, started the ball on the civil rights act, orchestrated the biggest attack in history (via Bobby) on the US Mafia, botched the Bay of Pigs invasion of "Cuber," sent advisors to Viet Nam... Definitely not Jimmah Carter, Michael.

Well there certainly couldn't be anyone disgruntled as a result of one of the policies he's implemented...as, he hasn't implemented any policies.

If nominated, Obama will move toward the center. If elected, he will have to face the world as it is, not as he (and I) would like it to be. What happens when he says we cannot immediately pull out of Iraq but goes through a “phased withdrawal” that lasts years. Or he truns out to be a supporter of Israel. Or “free” “universal” “health care” is not forthcoming.

Especially considering how his campaign is one of “hope” and emotion and increasingly a creepy cult of personality. Imagine how gilted his most fervant supporters will feel if he starts culling back on everything he has planned.

Frankly, if I were Obama, I would be more afraid of a deranged leftie (as though there were any other kind) or former supporter than anyone else.

Room 237 makes a terrific point. The scary thing about Barack Obama is his fanatical supporters are feeling things they shouldn't be feeling for a politician. BHO won't do everything the left wants because it simply isn't possible. Americans should try and appoint a Republican congress to make it even more impossible. He is promising falsehoods to his followers. His inevitable move to the middle will cause the same reactions as when somebody gets dumped. Some Obama followers will drink. Some will mope. Some won't come out of their room for weeks. And some will become angry.

Unfortunately, Obama's shift to the center will not mean much when his starting point is to the left of Trotsky and Lenin. He will still do incalculable damage to the Republic and the resulting civil unrest will, hopefully, push enough people to end the slide to Socialism.
