I couldn't help but notice that IMAO isn't on that list... clearly this blog is the whitest thing since Clay Aiken.

Eh, most of that list is more about White Liberals than White People.

And claiming that white people don't dance is a misconception. We just prefer specialized dance music.

I'm not sure how to feel about this. I scanned the page and didn't see anything I liked. As a female of Celtic heritage I'm pretty pale and although I like musical comedy none of those referred to in the piece are very funny or musical. So now is my "whiteness" being called into question?

Am I not "white" enough? That should come as a surprise to my mother and father (who have passed on, thank goodness, before this question became a cause celeb.)

That depends. We live in a society where white people always "need" to get a tan. Why that is, one can only guess...apparently, not having a tan or the ability to dance like a flamingo on crack is a sign of weakness, but how people come to that conclusion is a mystery to me. Unless the tan was acquired in order to pass one's self off as another race in order to get hired for a government job, but that would be fraud, and of course, that would be wrong.

Essentially, white people are always too white, but blacks people cannot be black enough.

Well, no, seanmahair, but some single white guys happen to question pale, freckled, Celtic redheads at one time or another.

If you replaced the word "white" with the word "black" on that site, there would be outrage, anger, calls to take down the site, protests on the blogger's lawn, calls for boycotts of the site host, and all it's advertisers, lawsuts, and Al Sharpton grandstanding. However, as it is, all it gets is a roll of the eyes and a shaking of the head.

I think those critical of the site need to read the posts more closely. All of the posts describe the white liberal perfectly. Any site that notices that white women think Jon Stewart is the perfect man and that the Prius is the ultimate white person vehicle (especially when it has both an Apple logo and an anti-war bumper sticker) has truly picked up on the white liberal's M.O. It picks up on the self-importance white liberals put into complicating simple things like making food (with all kinds of expensive gadgets and ingredients) or going shopping (has to be an expensive locally owned store and not evil Walmart). I think its hilarious and I'm a white guy but then I vote Republican, so I'm not authentically white according to the site.

I agree with Bob. I thought for the most part it was pretty funny (read it start to finish). It's obviously satire; but if you substituted "white liberal" for "white people", it could pass for a well done documentary.

Do you know what black people love?

From what I can gather; mainly they love movies that aren't funny, especially if they star Martin Lawrence or that Tyler Payne guy, or if they involve challenging people to dance, or playing drums. My main source of intel is tv commercials, but I'm confident that's sufficient.

The scary thing is, some of them apply to all white people. Like living near the water. Who here has never felt the desire to live near water?
Or to go to a foreign country and eat the food there? And yeas Frank, I know you just want to kill the foreigners, but you're the exception.

Sorry... I didnt find it all that humorous (maybe Im just in a mood today) I think we (collectively) could do better.

White people are crazy..... Imagine if you will a cattle ranch, its Sunday afternoon and the ranch hands are bored, standing around the cattle lot. One says to another. "See that there big ass bull? You know the one that tries to kill everything that gets near it?" Other guys say yep. "Well I bet I could RIDE that there bull for eight seconds"..... and the PBR is born...

I mean how effin crazy do you have to be to come up with that "thought". I understand all the other rodeo events as being an evolution of skills used on the ranch. But bull riding still escapes me. Dont get me wrong I love to watch it, but you have to admit it is a classic example of how white people are crazy....That and "fishing" for big ass catfish with your bare hands..

#11 It didn't occur to me that the story is describing liberal white people. They are a different species than I so I have no real experience with them. After 30 year on the mommy track and now the grandmommy track, the only real live libs I come in contact with are some of my children's teachers and in my neck of the woods they are not near as loony as elsewhere.

Pretty good to print the list and anyone that fits more than five of them ( not counting the coffee, being outside, or water thing) points out someone who needs a good punching.

Terminators programmed to eliminate hippies should scan this list instead of phone books.

Those definitely are of a lib stereotype right there. They listed a few things I like.

They mentioned over-priced sandwiches. Hard-working, non-trendy types like me enjoy reasonably priced, over-stuffed sandwiches. The kind that usually involve a mountain of pastrami, swiss cheese and kraut. Or brisket, or pulled pork, etc. I'm not really sure where this is going, but a love for sandwiches is something to wear as a badge of honor.

And I have never heard anything by Mos Def. I only saw him in Hitchhiker's Guide to the Galaxy, which was, of course, the worst movie ever.

I love that movie. I don't know why. I just really love that movie.
