Does Obama Change His Message Based on What Group He Is Talking To?
Posted by Frank J. at 11:18 AM | View blog reactions | Comments (31)

While Senator Obama has been preaching a heavy anti-NAFTA message in America, apparently a representative from his campaign assured Canadian officials not to take those threats against NAFTA seriously. Obama says this isn't true and even released this statement:

I urge you, the American people, to not listen to those dirty, lying canucks. I hate free trade. Let me say that again: I hate free trade. And if some beer-swilling, hockey-nut tell you otherwise, it is because he is trying to derail hope and change. Why would Canadians do that? Because they want to stop me from ending NAFTA so they can get their filthy hands on your jobs. If they have their way, soon all our products will be imported from Canada and smell of moose urine. And let me tell you, that is one pungent smell.

This could be damaging to the Obama campaign, because if its found out he says one thing to one group and another to a different group, it makes him seem much less hopey and changey. The only thing is this is not the first time he's tailored his message based on what group he is speaking to. Here are other examples:

* A representative of his told a Muslim group to ignore all those time he denies being a Muslim while he told a Jewish that he totally is not in any way a Muslim... plus his middle name is really Shlomo. Later, Obama told a Christian group that not only is he not a Muslim, he loves the Jesus... except for His right-wing stances.

* Obama told a pro-life group that he is personally against abortion and then the next day told a feminist group that no baby will survive his regime.

* Obama told a militant black group that he "hates honkeys." This right after publicly expressing honkey tolerance.

* A representative of his has started spreading the rumor with gay groups that Michelle Obama is a beard.

* Another representative of his told a goth group that all his "hope" talk is just blather and he has just a bleak and depressing outlook on life as anyone else.

He'd probably contradict himself even more if he only had been in politics long enough to have more stances on issues to contradict.

Frank. The answer is obvious. Yes.

Every politician thinks they invented politics just like the young thinks they invented sex.

I think the very suggestion is cynical, and we all know that the Obamessiah is not cynical.

#2 - Posted by: beez on March 4, 2008 11:50 AM

"Present"

#3 - Posted by: Barak Obama on March 4, 2008 11:56 AM

As a matter of fact, Jimmy, I did invent sex.

I just can't prove it since no one else was there to witness it.

#4 - Posted by: Al Gore on March 4, 2008 12:05 PM

Yeah, Al, but you did it as an old man!! Too late.

Would that be classified as an inconvenient truth?

#5 - Posted by: Jimmy on March 4, 2008 12:10 PM

I'm hoping for him to do the Obamessiah version of "I voted for it before I voted against it". As he campaigns, he'll also have to wear 2 baseball caps simultaneously - 1 facing forwards and 1 facing backwards. That would give him plenty of street cred with the rappers and pimps, yo'. Then, he's gonna have to go to an Osmond Family Reunion concert so he doesn't anger the crackers.

#6 - Posted by: cptnmoroni on March 4, 2008 12:17 PM

A representative of his has started spreading the rumor with gay groups that Michelle Obama is a beard.

Heh.

#7 - Posted by: AlanABQ on March 4, 2008 12:55 PM

Shouldn't that be "has" a beard?

#8 - Posted by: Master Shake on March 4, 2008 01:02 PM

Lies! All Lies!

I have NEVER expressed honkey tolerance! Honkeys are even worse than y'all crackers! The closest to tolerance I've ever gotten is to consider just puttin' y'all in detention camps and using you for cheap labor instead of exterminating you outright like my pastor wants!

I'm for Barack because he represents hope for the future and the future is in the future and that is what we hope for and it is not the past which is like sooo lame. Hopefully we can all get together and hope for change for the future with Obama and we will have hope for a future full of change and hope and hopefully a changing future of hope and change!

Now we know who BHO's speechwriter is!! Don't we Mr. Carter???

#12 - Posted by: maytag on March 4, 2008 02:12 PM

Well, ussjc, I'm HOPING that Obama hands Hillary her keister in Texas and the rest don't matter 'cause she'll be done like an over-cooked ham. Hillary then goes home crying (and I want that video!).

That will then CHANGE things and focus on the final battle where Obama is exposed for the progressive, liberal, national socialist sorry a$$ that he truly is. Obama is then defeated in November.

This is the two step, "two-for-the-price-of-one" strategy, aka, the "full frontal assault." Look at it this way, it gets rid of Hillary. Yay!

#13 - Posted by: Jimmy on March 4, 2008 02:18 PM

I hate to burst your bubble, Jimmy, but Hillary will never, ever go away. She's kinda like that irritating guy at work who is always in your cubicle to talk about his pathetic life and asking your opinion on all kinds of stupid stuff you don't care about. Even when you turn back to your desk, he just keeps droning on because he needs to feel "understood". You can flip him off, say "yup, gotta get back to work", or spray him with Clorox but he just won't go away.

#14 - Posted by: cptnmoroni on March 4, 2008 02:36 PM

That's why the journalists covering Obama's campaign could appreciate him more. His stump speeches, for them, could be less boring than listening to Hillary shrieking about the same things over and over. (I wouldn't want that assignment).

Instead of being forced to hear canned talking points at every s-i-n-g-l-e stop, the Obama campaign press gets a veritable smorgasbord of pandering and candy-coated Socialist flummery.

Who cares if it's hollow and/or phony? At least it's somewhat different, oh, and hopeful....

#15 - Posted by: Rightjabs on March 4, 2008 02:44 PM

Yeahbut, captain, upon losing Texas and dropping out from the pressure, I think Hillary will douche herself in her own tears and hyper-sensitivity. I can't imagine her campaigning for Obama, can you? New Yorker's will still have to put up with her (serves them right!) and she'll no doubt grab the news at times scratching and biting at McCain's presidency, but I can live with that.

Rightjabs: I want them both to go down - just Hillary first. This would give the Republican Party more time to attack the farthest left candidate: Obama.

My friend, you need to work on your standoffishness. I have personally rasied it to an artform. If you're interested, I'm teaching a class at the learning annex. I haven’t had a homeless person ask me for a damn thing in over four years. And that works out great, because, like all good conservatives, I hate poor people with the white hot passion of a thousand burning suns. See you in class.

Sincerely,

Professor Juggernaut

Yeah, me too.

You know things are bad when Noam Chomsky tells them: "Now you moonbats have gone too far!"

I'm teaching a class at the learning annex.

Your course sounds informative. What, if any, are the prerequisites?

Could you post the syllabus here?

#20 - Posted by: Rightjabs on March 4, 2008 03:05 PM

*** All you Democrats in Ohio and Texas ***

VOTE OBAMA

Hillary out = CHANGE the dirty CLINTON underwear.

Do it now! Strike while the iron is hot! He who hesitates is lost! Out damned spot, OUT!! (I can't think of any other cliches.)

#21 - Posted by: Jimmy on March 4, 2008 03:06 PM

I heard he told a group of his "hope" supporters that he hates change, and a group of his "change" supporters that he hates hope. I'm not sure how he's going to get out of that one.

#22 - Posted by: James on March 4, 2008 03:39 PM

I know that Rush and Laura are saying that we should vote for the Beast but I think we should drive a stake through her heart now or she will arise and we shall pay later! Myself and Jimmy will be assigned to hell as her personal sex slaves! We will be tied down and fed massive doses of wiener candy so that she can have her way with us before casting us away to Ft. Marcy Park rolled up in a blanket...

#23 - Posted by: ussjimmycarter on March 4, 2008 03:40 PM

#20 - Posted by: Rightjabs

Only one prerequisite, my friend; a general dislike for most human beings you encounter on a day-to-day basis. The first lesson is entitled “You too can make eye contact a psychological punch in the face.” My favorite lesson, however, is number 6 “In-laws: the jack-asses who think you’re buddies because you married their sister – and the four words to say to ensure they never ask you to game night again”

#24 - Posted by: juggernaut on March 4, 2008 03:43 PM

#23 - Posted by: ussjimmycarter

Don't make a rookie mistake. Remember to cut off her head and fill the mouth with garlic. Just a word to the wise.

#25 - Posted by: juggernaut on March 4, 2008 03:46 PM

Right, ussjimmycarter and juggernaut. And that scares the Viagra right out of me. I'm limp, no, shriveled and withdrawn just thinking about her. All real women-loving men need to unite to cast this beotch out!! Away with her. She's D A N G E R O U S.

And you women, don't you see it?? Can you imagine the damage done to all of our psychologies by her presence in the campaign? She's biggest female turn-off in the history of the human race. If she were a Republican, I'd STILL want her gone.

#26 - Posted by: Jimmy on March 4, 2008 03:52 PM

Juggernaut, don't forget the salt and burial at a crossroads to be certain.

#27 - Posted by: Writer on March 4, 2008 04:46 PM

This has absolutely nothing to do with this topic, but I just thought I'd let Frank know that not only is Fred still on the ballot in Ohio, he got my vote this morning!

#28 - Posted by: BobG on March 4, 2008 05:39 PM

After Obama gets plastered all over the infield by McCain in November, does anybody honestly believe that Hillary Clinton will not be back in 2012? I'm telling you, we want her to beat Obama so that she is the one beaten to within an inch of her political life in November. That's the only way she's ever going to go away. The way things are going, she'll be saying, "If you stupid Kos Kids had just nominated me, we would already have our hippie-paradise" 3 1/2 years from now. She has an unquenchable thirst for power that only a good beating in the general election will cure.

#29 - Posted by: cptnmoroni on March 4, 2008 06:10 PM

I'm sorry maybe I misread. We are talking about a politician, right? A Liberal Democratic politician, in the mold of say McGovern, Hart, Kerry and Carter.

I thought that was standard operating procedure.

#30 - Posted by: seanmahair on March 4, 2008 06:51 PM

cptnmoroni - if I knew that would happen for sure, then I'd agree. But I just can't help wanting her to go away now and be labeled a big obstreperous LaLoser while we have the chance. There's no time like the present.
