The vet apparently lectured him before the defensive action. Hell, That kid should have stopped and run right there. They also need to find the punk and set him to spending some quality time scaping, priming and repainting this guys house (whether it needs it or not). Mowing the grass, weed whacking, pulling weeds, pruning trees and pooper scooping the yard. Not to mention any other small labor intensive jobs around the house and yard as community service. She tore into him with a blistering Catholic/Grandma lecture that had him apologizing, leaving his knife on the counter and scampering away. Now, we can all see the reasonable nature of this argument, since after I kick someone in the teeth I always call the police right away. So to settle the issue, I'm asking all WWII vets to go out, any time this week, and kick a mugger in the nuts. Don't hold back, guys, you know you want to. And then report it right away. If you can manage photos (or You Tube--call the grandkids for tech support), that's all the better. But a spirited verbal after-action report would be good, too.
