In My World: Near Slip Up
"Our biggest threat is Al Qaeda," Barack Obama told a crowd of supporters. "We need to go after them, and Al Qaeda is not in Ir-... wait... um... that's not right... uh... the key Al Qaeda leadership is not in Iraq. That's the ticket! So, no reason for us to be in Iraq." "But if we leave Iraq, won't the leadership set up base there?" a supporter asked. "No... um... because... of the... uh... the violent Shiites there who will kill all of them." "Then don't we have to worry about the Shiites?" another person in the audience asked. "No... because... um... they'll all eventually be... um... eaten by the sandworms. So, if we leave Iraq, everything will solve itself. There's no reason for us to be there losing money and lives over spice... um... I mean oil." "Do you actually know anything about foreign affairs?" someone else asked. "Well... um... I read the paper every day." "Articles or the comics?" Obama thought about that. "What do the classifieds count as?" 9 Responses To "In My World: Near Slip Up"
Worst. Election. Ever. "I'm traveling down the road, I'm flirtin' with disaster." #1 - Posted by: MarkoMancuso on April 11, 2008 02:16 PMObama knows as much about foreign affairs as McCain knows about economics. Do ya get the feeling that one way or another, we're gonna lose something? Anyone have a toilet snake? #2 - Posted by: Jimmy on April 11, 2008 02:36 PMHelp me Frank. A good IMW but was the sand worm reference to Dune or Beatleguese? Being old sucks as I sometimes miss the obscurity of today's references. #3 - Posted by: allthatsright on April 11, 2008 03:12 PMAll I know about foreign affairs, I learned from "The Boondocks". #4 - Posted by: Barack Obama on April 11, 2008 03:14 PMallthatsright: I'm pretty sure he was making a Dune reference (since there was mention of "spice" later on). Frank: I love Dune references, keep 'em coming. #5 - Posted by: brandEn on April 11, 2008 03:17 PMI sure hope Obama puts someone really really qualified into office to handle foreign affairs like Clinton did like M. Albright! That will make up for his short-comings. And if we can also get another Janet Reno for Justice things will be really swell! Of course if McCain is nominated he could put Eliot Spitzer's hooker in charge of Commerce. She seems to have the profit thing pretty well figured out... #6 - Posted by: ussjimmycarter on April 11, 2008 03:38 PMThis raises the question whether Obama might be shortening the way somehow. Can he see where others can't? #7 - Posted by: Brutha on April 11, 2008 04:39 PMObama is filled with a terrible purpose; he can see no way to stop the coming jihad. (because he's a pansy liberal moron) #8 - Posted by: Ernie Loco on April 11, 2008 05:44 PMYou gotta hand it to his handlers, they heard "Al Qaeda is not in Ir--" and before he finished the first word were screaming at him the right answer. #9 - Posted by: Scorpius on April 13, 2008 01:57 AMPost a comment
