Hellbender Note
Sorry, I'm getting a bit behind on Hellbender and should have the next part up tomorrow. Just to be clear since I don't remember mentioning it, it is not a continuation of the previous attempt and meant to be a story by itself. Also, I know I'm not a very technically good writer, and its just supposed to be entertaining pulp. Basically, I keep coming up with story ideas whether I want to or not, I don't have the patience (or, perhaps, the skill) to get published through traditional means, so I've decided to indulge myself and write here because I have an audience. I really appreciate everyone who is reading it and promise to finish it this time. 10 Responses To "Hellbender Note"
Bah! We don't care about that stuff! We just want more story! #1 - Posted by: Rubeus on May 5, 2008 09:21 PMPress on little pulp writer, press on. Oh and about the technically good writer stuff, I still think superego would be an awsome movie. #2 - Posted by: hwy93 on May 5, 2008 09:41 PMTrust me, this is a much better read than 99% of what's published nowadays. The talent is in coming up with an interesting plot surrounding good characters. Actual writing ability is a smaller part of it and is pretty much gained through lots and lots of practice. I've actually come to the conclusion that there are very few really great writers who actually came out with anything worthwhile before at least age 30... at least. Really, though, just get back to the story. You'd also better keep your promise of finishing it this time. We all have guns, you know. #3 - Posted by: Hazel on May 5, 2008 09:51 PMHellbender is made of win and win. I'm loving every chapter. #4 - Posted by: Kyou on May 5, 2008 10:26 PMHellbender is great, and I'm very picky about what I read. Just, you know, maybe get someone to read over it, and edit out the mistakes, like, you know, some kind of editor. [Yeah, I'll go get one of those from the editor farm next door. -Ed.] #5 - Posted by: AR on May 5, 2008 11:06 PMI noticed the last couple of segments have been kind of short. Maybe you could make them longer? Otherwise they are entertaining as usual and I've enjoyed reading them. #6 - Posted by: on May 6, 2008 01:07 AMHazel beat me to the useful stuff, so I'll just say, please keep rolling, and (as the anonymous dude at #6, and most women everywhere, have said) longer is generally better. I'm pretty much hooked. So get writing, blogboy! #7 - Posted by: Peregrine John on May 6, 2008 10:27 AMyou could always go with multiple concurrent stories so that if something pops into your head, you can stick it in whichever story it works best in, instead of trying to work it into hellbender or ignoring the idea entirely. you can kind of do this now with the 'in my world' and 'hellbender', but the more, the merrier. Goe, just sayin'. #8 - Posted by: Goemagog on May 6, 2008 11:43 AMGo team hellbender! #9 - Posted by: bobthemad on May 6, 2008 03:15 PMI enjoy hellbender and superego very much. I think discriptive writing is really tricky and a little over rated. it would take stephen king 600 pages to write your story up to this point so far and then I wouldn't be able to read it here at work while I'm wasting time. Yours is the right balance of action, information, and hilarity for this kind of story. So post the next chapter already. #10 - Posted by: AlaskaNick on May 6, 2008 03:24 PMPost a comment
