He's Still In It to Win It!
Posted by Frank J. at 09:00 AM | View blog reactions | Comments (30)

Why did the chicken cross the road?

RON PAUL!

Ron Paul is basically just a punchline now, but I actually heard a Ron Paul ad on a country music station the other morning. If you're wondering where the millions of dollars gullible losers threw at Ron Paul was going, well now you have your answer.

Seriously, though, if Ron Paul increases his standing and manages to get 10% of the vote in the Idaho Republican caucus next Tuesday, he'll only need to get 10,000% of the remaining delegate to beat McCain.

Say it with me...

RON PAUL!

If Thomas Jefferson were a creepy looking crank, he'd be Ron Paul.

He's coming off of his big win in Kentucky where he gained 2 delegates. Take that Alan Keys!! He'll probably get a couple votes in Idaho for two main reasons.

1) There are some really dumb people in Idaho that believe the world will end if Ron Paul isn't elected President of Confederacy of Planets over Senator Palpatine.

2) I can't bring myself to vote for McCain if I can still vote for some other Republican.

Hey, What's black, white, red all over, and has problems getting through revolving doors?

RON PAUL!!!

I will only vote for Ron Paul if he promises to give me his pot of gold.

the ads were all over the talk radio station I listen to here in Kentucky. He got 13,419 votes. His base seems to be losing heart.

A couple of weeks ago there was a letter to the editor in our local small town paper (rural Minnesota) that was 3 columns long, trying desperately to convince ANYBODY to vote for Ron Paul in the general election in November. They just won't give up.

#6 - Posted by: tamaita on May 21, 2008 02:42 PM

Truthfully, if I do cast a ballot for presdent, I will give it to Ron Paul before wasting it on Johnny Mac. RP can be pretty freaky, and I say this as a Libertarian myself, but JM is a big government republicrat who will never get my vote. He didn't get my vote for Senator either.

Ron Paul is a true conservative alternative to the eco-neocon McCain. McCain is one of the people who pushes an un-constitutional approach to government, for example McCain-Feingold.

The sins of politicians are killing us as a nation. We need to unseat all of them.

The longer I see what dominates the TV "news", and the character and integrity of the wanna-bes that fuel it, the more I'm resolute to write in Ron Paul.

I'm obligated, as I can no longer afford the taxes
to "enrich" the lives of unmerited parasites on BOTH sides of the "median income" line.

Angry white male? You bet!

We must all stand behind McCain and get him elected. It is the only way we can stop Iran from overthrowing the USA and forcing us to become muslims. Come show your support at the John McCain Forum at http://johnmccainforum.com

Idiot.

The lesser of two evils, is still evil. You may sell your soul, I choose to stand on princple. You may recall a few men that did that in the late 1700's?

#14 - Posted by: John McCain on May 21, 2008 08:15 PM

We need to stand on our own and reject his politics. Mac showed courage, strength and honor as a Naval officer and POW. That means nothing in the political arena where he demonstrates his mediocrity as a leader at the national level.
Iran and the rest of the muslim world can only overthrow the US if we continue to elect people to these offices who are willing to sell us out, and then neglect to stand up for ourselves. Outside the government's sphere of influence, the American people are perfectly capable of fending off this threat. If we just allow the politically correct and politically motivated to threaten us with lawsuits or imprisonment, we will lose before Iran has a chance to make a real move. National security begins and ends with John Q. Public, not John S. McCain. Stop believing the GOP propaganda, Mac is hardly any better than BHO or HRC.
My advice, cling to your guns and religion. Reject the notion that government is going to save you. Don't be cowed by PC crap. And finally, only vote for those who truely respect the bill of rights (think McCain-Feingold) and be prepared to disavow them when they prove they don't respect you or your rights. On this count alone all three of the candidates mentioned above fail miserably. Finding candidates who pass the test is going to be a real problem. But electing one after failing the test is crazy.

You don't have to just choose between writing in Ron Paul and voting for McCain, if you're a disheartened limited government Conservative.

Vote for Libertarian Presidential candidate Bob Barr. He's like Ron Paul on domestic issues, but without all the nuttiness on foreign policy.

#17, I'm seriously considering that unless doing so would put the Dems in office.

Guess it depends also on who Juan picks as his Veep.

...Then again, four years of mocking President Paul and the Ronulans would be comedy gold...

This guy was complaining about the high cost of gas the other day at the convenience store, and I said, "get ready for $5 a gallon cause it's coming," He proceeded to hassle me with this big diatribe about how we sent trillions of dollars to Israel and how they're the root of the problem in the middle east. He was going on and on, and finally I cut him off and said, "You're a Ron Paul supporter, right?"

"Yes!"

"Muahahahahahaha! Good bye." He reached up to stop my car door from closing. He was lucky not to lose a finger. It's all right though, cause if he HAD lost one, I gave him one to replace it, as I drove off, with my Fred '08 sticker in the back window. It was...well, sweet.

#20 - Posted by: otcconan on May 22, 2008 12:50 PM

And, from looking at the above comments, the only thing that dies harder than Ron Paul is his supporters.

#21 - Posted by: otcconan on May 22, 2008 12:54 PM

I still can't believe that after all this time, there are still Paulbots Googling his name to see what sites to troll!

If McCain makes a really stupid VP choice (like, say, Lieberman), the Ron Paul folks will be in the best position at the convention to offer a different candidate for enraged conservatives to support. If I was there, I'd jump on the Ron Paul bandwagon over Lieberman.

I still see Ron Paul signs, and you know what they say on them?

"RON PAUL"

#25 - Posted by: DoubleU on May 23, 2008 08:22 AM

So, ron paul is stupid for continuing his campaign when he cant win, but Hillary Clinton (who will officially be incapable of winning if the Michigan and Florida elections ARE counted) can still campaign withought being called an idiot.

12. Anarchy! It's better than no government at all!

I thought anarchy IS no government at all.

My Pa (WWII vetran) made a very good point once about how the nazis took over Germany. Imagine the lowest, dirtiest, nastiest, meanest SOB in your neighborhood. The guy with the weediest lawn, the meanest dog and the scrawniest, most haunted-looking wife and kids.

Now imagine THAT guy being given government authority to tell you how to run every aspect of your life forever. That's the kind of guys who were attracted to the nazi party and who rose to power within its ranks.

American Fascism will appear with smiley faces on their armbands, but their sack and pillage of civil liberties will be just as all encompassing.
What'll make it worse is being told it's for our own good.

The price of liberty is constant vigilance. The easiest way for 'it' to happen here is to keep on saying "it couldn't happen here!"

Sorry so long. I've been awfully preachy lately. I try to keep my comments short but I always seem to think of just one more thing to say before I post.

Ron Paul for VP? Ron Paul for POTUS, McCain for VP? Fred Thompson for King!

12. Anarchy! It's better than no government at all!

True. It was a bumper sticker I once saw. I enjoy the puzzlement it causes when people hear it. I don't espouse anarchy, but I do believe in minimal government. What does "minimal government" mean? I can't tell you, but I know it when I see it. Neither Mac, Hill, nor Barry O stand for small government. None of them will get my vote. At this point, I have no candidate, and will not cast one for the GOP just to keep the jackass party out. I learned my lesson with Bush, I should have just abstained then too.

#29 - Posted by: echo5a on May 25, 2008 03:44 PM

I watched the Libertarian party convention live on CSPAN this weekend. On the positive side they chose a candidate in about 6 hours. On the negative side, their candidiate for pres, Bob Barr, looks like Mr. Whipple just before he attacks a couple of housewives with a meat cleaver for squeezing the Charmin once too often. He makes Ron Paul look like Mr. Rodgers. The deligates looked like they were there for a Star Trek convention and wandered into the wrong hall by mistake. I feel so shallow for not being able to look beyond my first impressions. I think I'll vote for the first name on the ballot that I don't recognise. At least I can trust a complete stranger to not disapoint my expectations, since I'll have none.
