Reject and Renounce
I got some more hate mail... this time from someone famous: Dear IMAO, I'm guessing John Hawkins got a similar letter. So do you think I'll get invited to the next blogger conference call at least? 31 Responses To "Reject and Renounce"
You're one of the few people that can make me laugh a 06:20 in the morning. I like your Random Thoughts, by the way. #1 - Posted by: Jimmy on May 23, 2008 09:23 AMGreat job Frank. But, my friends, no one can truly capture the condescending and arrogant tone "Maverick" uses when speaking to conservatives. #2 - Posted by: MarkoMancuso on May 23, 2008 09:40 AMAlong the same lines as that democrat congresswoman questioning oil executives, I can't prove that McCain actually wrote that letter to Frank, but I know it's true or at least must be what McCain is thinking. Therefore, it must be on McCain to prove that it is false. I hate to tell you this Frank but your not special. We all got that message. #4 - Posted by: Sky on May 23, 2008 10:09 AMI want conservatives to show their outrage by showing up at the polls and voting for all the Republican candidates, exempt John McCain. If thirty thousand people do that in each of the big states, and McCain then loses one of those states by less then thirty, we will be able to point out that he lost because he did not have the conservatives, while all the other Republicans won. Besides, if we can somehow cut down on the number of democrats in both houses of congress, we may stand a chance of avoiding the apocalypse of a democrat take over of everything. #5 - Posted by: Marvin on May 23, 2008 10:44 AMI’m going to cast a write-in vote for Fred in November. I haven’t voted for an actual conservative since Reagan. I’m freaking tired of waiting. #6 - Posted by: MarkoMancuso on May 23, 2008 10:56 AMI still have no idea what to do, and may still be wondering come Novemeber: 1. Hold my nose and vote McCain, just to keep the WH away from BHO or HRC 2. Vote my conscience/waste a vote and pick the Libertarian Bob Barr 3. Realize the country is screwed no matter what, and vote Ron Paul! just for 4 years worth of mock factor. Guess it'll depend on who the Veep noms are. I do like #5's idea of voting all R's for the Congressional seats; anything that'll get San Fran Nan and Dingy Harry outta there. #7 - Posted by: NunyaB on May 23, 2008 12:45 PM"Besides, if we can somehow cut down on the number of democrats in both houses of congress, we may stand a chance of avoiding the apocalypse of a democrat take over of everything" I wish, but this election it doesn't look like that one's happening; we've already lost seats in special elections we shouldn't have lost and everybody is predicting the gap to widen. #8 - Posted by: WAL on May 23, 2008 03:27 PMI read this blog all the time for entertainment purposes and obviously think Frank has a great sense of humor. However, somebody on this board suggested that the letter posted was legitimate and I felt obliged to point out that Frank wrote that letter. Additionally, Mccain is one of the most socially conservative persons in this country. If you disagree, please do look at his record. As a social liberal, it makes it difficult for me to support him as a result and would have preferred Guiliani. Moreover, it is his views on the economy that present troubles for fiscal conservatives, such as myself. While he now claims to support tax cuts, he does seem to be pandering, just like Obama is pandering when he says he is pro-Israel, even though his preacher and spirtual adviser for 20 years is virulently anti-semitic. HOWEVER, I will vote for him for one reason: he knows what he is talking about on the war in Iraq and we NEED him to win; otherwise, there may not be an America in 10 years. Therefore, please do think carefully as to how you would like the country to proceed; here are the two possibilities: 1) Obama wins the presidency because conservatives were too thick headed to go vote. Hence, you have a country that casts Israel aside and supports the Arabs, only to find out that they were not really as peaceful as Obama had thought; though converting to Islam seemed to appease them; or Lastly, Mccain just denounces these conservatives for one reason -- he believes that by doing so, he has a greater appeal with independents, the only way he will win. If you disagree with him, please say so, but do realize that he is doing so for political reasons and not because he dislikes conservatives. #9 - Posted by: Phil on May 23, 2008 05:14 PMIt was bad enough when Frank's multiple personalities only argued with themselves...now they've start arguing with mccain! Sarah K. really needs to put a stop to this. #10 - Posted by: George on May 23, 2008 05:25 PMWe conservatives have been thrown under the bus by the current leadership of the Republican party, including John McCain. Ok...it's their party and they can have it without us! They don't like us, they don't support our policies, they vote for legislation that we find intolerable! When Newt and DeLay were being savaged daily by the left they said nothing. How's everything been going since Newt and Delay were dumped? John McCain is NOT a conservative. Never has been, never will be! A conservative would NEVER, EVER give away our nation's borders and sign-up with Ted Kenney, and the ultra left of the RAT party. No conservative would EVER consider running with John F'n Kerry! I will NEVER vote for John McCain! #11 - Posted by: ussjimmycarter on May 23, 2008 08:18 PMWhen Newt and DeLay were being savaged daily by the left they said nothing. How's everything been going since Newt and Delay were dumped? UJC, I might get heat over this, but Newt was part of the problem. I liked the guy. I liked to listen to the guy. He was always insightful when he gave a speech, but somewhere around 96/97 he lost his spine, caved in on stuff he really didn't need to cave on, and set us down the path of abandoning the principles of '94 in order not to piss off the media and voters who were more to the left. Plus, I'm still pissed at him for not being able to keep his dick in his pants when he should have known full well how much that would jeopardize Republicans in congress and his leadership. #12 - Posted by: WAL on May 23, 2008 09:13 PMAlso, if you think I'm being too hard on him, read what Tom Coburn has to say about him in his book. #13 - Posted by: WAL on May 23, 2008 09:14 PMIn keeping with my stated intention to keep my future comments brief, I just deleted the 3 page rant I had intended to send. I felt better for having typed it and seen it in print, but it wouldn't have edified anyone else. Endeavor to Perservere! #14 - Posted by: 4 of 7 on May 23, 2008 11:38 PMWhen are you bums going to get behind Ron Paul? ...better late than never. Gradpa Fred was a joke and a sore excuse for a RINO. McCain is 10X as bad as him.
When are you bums going to get behind Ron Paul? When I've lost all dignity and the will to live. #16 - Posted by: WAL on May 24, 2008 10:57 AMI received no such letter. Which, I guess, means I've not been sufficiently clear in my "Fred is STILL the best pick" statements, or maybe McCain's people don't read RedState but they DO read IMAO - that's deep, man. Alternatively, perhaps it's that McCain's never heard of me. But that's not possible. His wife has like bazillions of dollars. My name is on pretty much every frickin coin and denomination of dollar ever made. Surely Johnny Mac has bothered to lOOK at one. #17 - Posted by: E Pluribus Unum on May 24, 2008 12:09 PMHate mail??? You call that hate mail? You have no freaking clue what hate mail is, you thorough-going ignorant excuse for a blogger. Do you think I like having this noble profession besmirched by the stupid crap you put out, and then call yourself a blogger. I spend years trying to elevate the profession, and then you come along with all that lame so-called irony - as if you had a clue what you're talking about. And I know that you're not supposed to end a sentence with a preposition, but I am just too angry to bother going back to correct it. You probably didn't even notice it when you read it, until I pointed it out here. Hate mail? I'll show you hate mail, you worthless little apprentice puppy-blender!! #18 - Posted by: glenn_reynolds on May 24, 2008 12:16 PMThe random thoughts do suck. Should be "random drivel". #19 - Posted by: AgKoch on May 24, 2008 12:29 PMGlenn Reynolds feels that if you haven't personally come under mortar fire, or your personal jet had a Stinger shot at it, you haven't really properly pissed anybody off enough to rate 'hate mail'. I can relate. My personal jet has not once ever been shot at by anything bigger than a .50cal machine gun. #20 - Posted by: E Pluribus Unum on May 24, 2008 01:08 PM#7 I agree with #5. Who the h*ll is Glenn Reynolds and should I care that I've never heard of him/her/it? #22 - Posted by: 4 of 7 on May 24, 2008 07:49 PM"... Mccain is one of the most socially conservative persons in this country..." Hey Phil, you must be thinking about his support for using unborn humans for medical experimentation purposes - a real social conservative that guy, yesireee! #23 - Posted by: Don L on May 24, 2008 09:08 PMI don't care what anyone else says, your "hate mail" is suitable for framing! :-) #24 - Posted by: Bloodthirsty Warmonger on May 25, 2008 04:55 PM"we've already lost seats in special elections we shouldn't have lost and everybody is predicting the gap to widen." - WAL C'mon WAL, haven't you heard? Congressional Republicans have looked at this and realized what the problem is and how to fix it. They've finally gotten the message. See, with McCain's numbers being higher than Congress, they believe that what they needed was to have supported SCHIP and the homeowner bailout and things of that nature. Obviously be more liberal and "mavericky" works. Message received. If the message was, lets remake the Republican party into a copy of the Democrat party... was that the message? On the plus side, if you vote for McCain in this election you'll absolutely convince them that they were correct. Hooray (unless that isn't the goal). ** Now, since many things posted here are parody... here's the link. http://firstread.msnbc.msn.com/archive/2008/05/14/1019748.aspx SCHIP, homeowner bailout, McCain's poll numbers, remaking the party in the image of McCain... all those are factual and in the article... and sadly not made up by me. Or, in other words, we're not just f***ed here; we're so far from f***ed that the light from f***ed won't get here for several years. #25 - Posted by: Gekkobear on May 26, 2008 07:49 AMLooks like it's time to turn "hate mail" from a noun into a verb. #26 - Posted by: ss396 on May 26, 2008 08:52 AMIf John McCain wins this election, only John McCain wins. America loses. (America loses with any of the three contenders) Consevatives, especially conservative Republicans catch this pie squarely in the face. Libs and Rinos selected Mac for you. We are headed for disaster. It will be better to allow the Dimocrats to take the fall for that, even though they will try to point the finger at Bush. Do you have the balls to refuse to vote for their candidate and hand over the executive mansion at 1600 Pennsylvania to the Dims? #27 - Posted by: echo5a on May 26, 2008 10:37 AMIts not just McCain, Frank. Everyone hates you. McCain is just honest enough to say so. #28 - Posted by: klrtz1 on May 26, 2008 06:58 PM"John McCain is a liar. He's a man without honor, without integrity"
Bennedict Arnold, Atilla the Hun and Vlad the Impaler were war heroes, that doesn't mean I'd vote for them. Oh, I got my copy of The Chronicles of Dubya in the mail yesterday. Classic! I also now know who Glenn Reynolds is. Never mind. #30 - Posted by: 4 of 7 on May 28, 2008 10:07 PMYou still are free to participate in my "Just Shut Up and Vote for Me" program I have for conservatives, though....Hmmm, yes, I'll vote for mcPlane I guess...though it will be kinda like clintons "dont ask, dont tell". #31 - Posted by: CharlieWalksonWater on May 29, 2008 12:04 AMPost a comment
