I think I see what's going on here. The monkeys scheme constantly to take over the world and be our overlords, but they lack the opposable thumbs necessary to fire an M-16.

So, they trick us into giving them robots with thumbs (and shoulder-mounted chain guns, of course) and their only weakness is overcome.
