What is that? A tommy gun? Get those folks some weapons made in the latter half of the 20th century!

I'm sure that guys just an innocent citizen, being racistly profiled for having brown skin. The injustice of it all.

I hope that's just posing for PR photography, and not really how their police believe an appropriate way to handle any sort of firearm.

#2 - Posted by: Dairenn on September 16, 2008 06:04 PM

The weapon is your standard run of the mill 7.62mm kalashnikov (AK47). The Butt of the weapon has been removed because it's easier to clear rooms with a smaller weapon. I would guarantee this police officer was a part of the group that arrested them by raiding their house. I'm making that guess because from his uniform he has no displayed rank (Would normally be on his shoulders) so he’s pretty low on the totem pole.

This looks bad. It's funny. but in reality, the guy blind folded doesn't know if the Police Officer's finger is on the trigger or not. And I can attest that the Police force in Kirkuk are the best cops in Iraq. (Michael Totten even said so.)But that doesn't mean they don't have their share of retards.

I don't think its a Thompson, no stock and the drum is clipped on not like a Thompson.

I think our boy Ahmed is about to check some orifices for contraband. Probably not much poontang up there in Kirkuk and these 3 are kinda cute.
Osama forgot to tell the little brownboys about Sgt. Ahmed the Boyfucker when they signed up for Allah's jihad.

The cop is holding the weapon in that way because it's easier to control than if he'd had his one free hand on the pistol grip.

The suspect is blindfolded so he doesn't know the difference.

Under those circumstances, that's how I'd do it.

Let's be honest, AK's are best used as clubs so he might as well hold it like that anyway.

Nice one, Adam Mk 1!

This looks so completely staged it isn't funny.

This is staged and you're right the AK is only good enough to use as a club. He is also blind so what does he know..thank heavens our money is getting well spent!

I'll give you big boys something to grip ;-)

Instead of using the time and time again failed policies of killing those you disagree with maybe you should give them tax rebates for developing wind and solar energy panels they could perhaps
wear on there heads or make a "solar Suit!" that would stylish and so very very green! Then maybe you could plug in ATMs into peoples backs that would help jump start the iraqi economy and that could open Panera breads which im so sure are huge in iraq anyways right???

The cop looks Kurdish to me. The Kurds are as whole extreme homophopes. There are lots of beautiful women, and Whorehouses too. But I would say the business is not great for the whore industry there.

#13 - Posted by: OIFvet on September 17, 2008 08:41 AM

Even though the cop is not an American and the "suspect" is not an American, I'm sure Obama is worried he wasn't read his rights.

Toilet Girl:
That is an AK 47 (or 74 they are externally difficult to tell apart) with a drum magazine and a folding stock. If you look close you can see the bar running from a pivot point directly above the pistol grip forward to the officer's hand. If you look at the forearm just in front of his hand, you can see the end of the stock.

Although there are several variants, that one appears to fold downward and back up underneath, giving the user the option of not using the stock for situations such as room clearing, as noted by OIFvet.

Stocks that fold to the side could be used, but many would interfere with the operation of the weapon. Telescoping stocks (such as on the M4), are also nice, but a bit more expensive, and don't make the gun quite as short.

#15 - Posted by: kapikui on September 17, 2008 02:28 PM

It is not normally a great idea to cut loose a burst in a room with concrete walls. The bad guy, being blindfolded, cannot see. Meanwhile the Iraqi bluesuit has the AK in whopping position.
If the bad guy tries to wiggle wrong the bluesuit just whops him over the ear a time or two.
