I'd like to see a political stunt
where Governor Palin
aims a rifle with a mirror and fires over her shoulder,
shooting a perfect shot grouping in the Democrat's
Socialist Toxic Mortgage superfund legislation
(which includes $100Million funding for ACORN)...

... then does a back flip and dances the robot, of course.

Hence the problem we have right now. Most of the "guys" in Congress are people you'd sit down in a bar with, even the females. We don't need buddies in charge of the country or our financial well being, we need adults, professionals, and dare I say it, responsible individuals.

Oh and since when is it an attack ad, to tell the truth about someone's experience or lack there of. The only person that got attacked per se was Gov. Romney, when Huckabee and McCain joined together to force him out of the race.

And please don't tell me religion wasn't a factor. I was here back in the spring when all you had to do was say "mormon" and the trolls from both sides of the fence began to foam at the mouth. If it wasn't for a few kind posters I would have left this site never to return again. I don't judge anyone else's religion (except when they tell me they want to kill me, then I figure all bets are off), and I stupidly expected others to grant me that same privilege. I am no longer naive. It has been a real learning experience.

Funny like a clown funny?

Do I amuse you?

You better stay away from my bridge, horned-one, or I'll toll you good.

Political stunt? You want to see a political stunt?

David Blaine screwing up on national tv and blaming it on the President is a political stunt.

I'll give the trolls one thing -- they make for entertaining comments threads!

Also, seanmahair: I think Romney would have been a decent candidate/VP (he was always my 3rd or 4th choice), but I don't think it was religious concerns that lost it for him. That may have been a small factor, but I think the main reason he didn't win was his attack ads against McCain and Huckabee (notice how the two guys who didn't run attack ads against their fellow Republicans were the last two left in the primaries race?), and his lack of a "guy I'd sit down and have a beer with" factor (which McCain and Bush both have). He looked good on paper, but most people don't vote based on what people look like on paper.

What political stunt would I like to see McCain pull? How about jumping 1,000 hippies with an Abrams tank. All the better if he comes up short.

So you people won’t vote for Romney in 2012 if that’s how it all works out? Never seen a Republican blog attack Romney like this before.

Are you kidding?

We're Republicans - we're happy to eat our own.

I would vote for him if it came down to it, but I can't imagine you ever surfed a Republican blog if you've never seen a candidate like Romney attacked like this before. For that matter, any negativity you see here is nothing compared to the levels at which conservatives have attacked McCain.

So are the Romnites the new Paulestinians?

You know, I'll give this to the Paulbots--they were generally forthright in where they stood. They may have been annoying as hell, but at least there was some honor to it.

Most of the people here are Fredheads. But in 2016 we'll be backing the Jindal ticket after President Palin leaves office. (No body expects McCain to live that long)

The thing I think is funniest is the claim that McCain wishes to skip this debate because he is afraid to debate Obama. McCain has been trying to get Obama to meet with him for months at townhalls to do just that and he refuses. Who is afraid?

Stick around. During the primaries things got rather heated. Of course you can tell those who really support Gov. Romney by the LACK of name calling, the lack of foul language and ability to use English grammer and spell check.

Some of us on this site still believe that Romney with his business experience would have been a better pick than even Mr. McCain, who would have made a great VP. Since religious bigotry is however alive and well even among fellow "Christians" it was not to be. Now we have a crisis that needs the services of someone like Gov. Romney and if it were me I'd tell them "You got yourselves into this mess, get yourselves out." But Romney's a class act and if called upon he will help. Me I'm Irish, I hold a grudge and have a really long memory.

You know you can always tell a persons commitment to an ideal, theology, or dogma. When the going gets tough, the light weights says, "there's nothing we can do about this, we need to go on focused on our narrow little agenda, because hey, we are the center of the universe." These people can't put aside their thirst for power, their hunger for adulation, their need for attention and approbation long enough to work for the good of those they are campaigning to lead.

If you can't understand the seriousness of this problem Osamabama, if you won't listen to your handlers, advisors and members of your own party who have more EXPERIENCE with the tough stuff then you do, then you are in NO WAY ready to lead anything. Maybe you should spend some time in the Senate watching the adults lead. You might pick up some clues, but with the arrogance of your "kind" (libs read this as Liberal left wing nut jobs) you won't pick up anything but a cold.

Now that's funny. I did a search to make sure I got that Ghandi quote correct and I came across this Ghandi quote: It is better to be violent, if there is violence in our hearts, than to put on the cloak of nonviolence to cover impotence

"Why is that funny Veeshir? Except for the obvious that nobody would ever guess that's a Ghandi quote."
Check out the URL
http://www.quotedb.com/quotes/1911

Is it just coincidence that the url for that quote ends in "1911"?

I'd be curious to hear from Frank J or Cadet (sometimes Happy) how many trolls there really are. My guess is 2-3 tops - and one is that Roy whiner who's entire life is centered around where he's sticking his d**k, and trying to convince others he's normal even though he sticks it there.

Geez, it is too much to ask for at least one Ghandi quote?

Here you go you mittsters you
First they ignore you, then they ridicule you, then they fight you, then you win

We'll ignore you until we feel like ridiculing you, then you can fight amongst yourself(s) and that's just win/win.

I think my favorite political stunt so far is all the little forum trolls putting on their leather jackets and water skis and then jumping the "Should have picked Romney/Palin's a whore/Obama will prevail with his Hopey McChangitude" shark. :o)

Okay - you win. You're obviously not comment spamming since you have been here for at least a month and have had lots to say besides "McCain stoopid fur pickin palllin - Romney iz teh aaaawesum!!!". Tell me something, do you physically live in Hyde Park or do you come from as far away as Cicero? Cubs or White Sox? What do you think should be done to alleviate the congestion at both Midway and O'Hare airports? Should a third airport be put in Gary?
