Oh and since when is it an attack ad, to tell the truth about someone’s experience or lack there of. The only person that got attacked per se was Gov. Romney, when Huckabee and McCain joined together to force him out of the race.

And please don’t tell me religion wasn’t a factor. I was here back in the spring when all you had to do was say “mormon” and the trolls from both sides of the fence began to foam at the mouth. If it wasn’t for a few kind posters I would have left this site never to return again. I don’t judge anyone else’s religion (except when they tell me they want to kill me, then I figure all bets are off), and I stupidly expected others to grant me that same privilege. I am no longer naive. It has been a real learning experience.

Also, seanmahair: I think Romney would have been a decent candidate/VP (he was always my 3rd or 4th choice), but I don’t think it was religious concerns that lost it for him. That may have been a small factor, but I think the main reason he didn’t win was his attack ads against McCain and Huckabee (notice how the two guys who didn’t run attack ads against their fellow Republicans were the last two left in the primaries race?), and his lack of a “guy I’d sit down and have a beer with” factor (which McCain and Bush both have). He looked good on paper, but most people don’t vote based on what people look like on paper.

You know – try as I might, I can’t take seriously someone whose monicker is “touchmenow.”

Maybe there was something insightful in your post…but I’ll be damned if I’ll ever know.

I would vote for him if it came down to it, but I can’t imagine you ever surfed a Republican blog if you’ve never seen a candidate like Romney attacked like this before. For that matter, any negativity you see here is nothing compared to the levels at which conservatives have attacked McCain.

You know, I’ll give this to the Paulbots–they were generally forthright in where they stood. They may have been annoying as hell, but at least there was some honor to it.

Some of us on this site still believe that Romney with his business experience would have been a better pick than even Mr. McCain, who would have made a great VP. Since religious bigotry is however alive and well even among fellow “Christians” it was not to be. Now we have a crisis that needs the services of someone like Gov. Romney and if it were me I’d tell them “You got yourselves into this mess, get yourselves out.” But Romney’s a class act and if called upon he will help. Me I’m Irish, I hold a grudge and have a really long memory.

Okay – you win. You’re obviously not comment spamming since you have been here for at least a month and have had lots to say besides “McCain stoopid fur pickin palllin – Romney iz teh aaaawesum!!!”. Tell me something, do you physically live in Hyde Park or do you come from as far away as Cicero? Cubs or White Sox? What do you think should be done to alleviate the congestion at both Midway and O’Hare airports? Should a third airport be put in Gary?
