Jim Jones was a Community Organizer

Just sayin’

He also pioneered the drinking of some sort of ‘special’ chilled, from-powder beverage.

    You raise controversial issues, spacemonkey.

Like, did I – or did I not – organize my community kitchen yesterday? And what exactly happened to all the pumpkin pie? And where did all those special, chilled beverages go? There seems to be some missing time, and missing pie, and missing beverages around here.

  2. Joey says:

I just watched that special again last night. (I have it DVRed) It’s such a great small-scale example of how socialism works. It requires submitting yourself and all of your freedoms, including freedom of life, to others thereby making yourself nothing but a slave. Ayn Rand is brilliant on the subject. She smacks socialism down with the only truly American philosophy there is. Objectivism.

Also, it’s very creepy to me that these people still sort of hold those values they still held back then. Please learn from your mistakes. It wasn’t just because Jones was a bad egg. Socialism always fails.

  4. marvin says:

Too bad he is dead. I wonder who he would have endorsed this last election if he hadn’t drank the Kool-Aid?

  5. marvin says:

Actually, I wonder how many of Obama’s supporters would have formed their own communal colony, then freaked out and led their followers in mass suicide, had they only had the chance? The only question is what they would have named their communities, fake religions, and most importantly, what beverage would have been their choice to administer the poison with?

  6. Terry_Jim says:

His people just wanted “Reverend” Jim to do his thug thizzle.

  7. URanOnlineDumboPoophead says:

Wow. Iraq wants to charge us $80 for oil. War was such a great idea …. NOT God you idiots should just call your blog Club Stupid. Thanks a lot for supporting the war imao losers and space pukey. http://www.breitbart.com/article.php?id=081128210731.c9t7wc9j&show_article=1

I thought we covered this topic on Nov. 19th, “Drink the Kool-aid”.

    URanOnlineDumboPoophead says:

Sounds like something my 7 yo would call his brother.

  10. spacemonkey says:

Heh, looks like solid proof Iraq isn’t a puppet state to me.

Let them cut their production, we have loads of oil-sands that become cost-effective we can tap when the price spikes again.

Leave it to a lib to mourn a fascist dictator like Saddam Hussein.

  11. cataalex says:

Hey Dumbopoophead, I thought you idiot libs said the Iraq war was so we could take over their oil. Wrong again you morons!!!!! And if you were wrong about that how many hundreds or thousands of other things were you wrong about!!!! Probably most of them!! all you libs care about is what you can get free from Big Government. Well I hope you like the exchange free heathcare (which isn’t worth much) cause they are gonna take your free speech, your pursuit of happiness and all that other stuff when they do away with all your constitutional rights. Sad thing about that is you libs will be the ones crying the loudest!!!

  12. WAL says:

“NOT God you idiots should just call your blog Club Stupid.”

This is what passes for thought in Democratic circles.

And they wonder why we don’t have any respect for them.

They couldn’t argue or analyze a political position if their life depended on it.

  13. jul says:

I thought he meant to say NOT GOOD…but it’s “NOT!” and then “G-d, you idiots….”

Now I get it. Might help to use the space bar, bucko.

Another example of America’s outstanding public education system and why taxpayers should throw moar monee into that pit…

  14. RightWingJones says:

I don’t care if Iraq makes us pay $200 a barrel. Iraq is so awesome and so much better than our country that it doesn’t matter how many Americans die to save that country or how much we have to pay them for fuel. I’m also for more wars and more national building to save third world countries. Yah! Now I’m smart like spacepuke.

  15. RightWingJones says:

I like whining about imperialism for four years (like all liberals) and then turning on a dime and complaining the second Iraqis do something that isn’t in our interest because I’m incapable of making arguments above a level of a 4th grader.

I also like complaining about oil prices and the energy policies of other countries while adamantly opposing any increased drilling at home.

    But wait, there’s more-

In addition, I absolutely love whining about oil and complaining about its price while ignoring the fact it has collapsed over the past month and avoiding the fact that this would have rendered any policies I supported completely unnecessary and useless.

In short, I cannot make an argument without acting like a juvenile two-year old throwing a temper tantrum **but** hopefully the fact I get to post idiotic comments will make me feel better when I’m unemployed six months from now.

  16. AlanABQ says:

My favorite “community organizer” was this fine fellow, possibly the most scrupulous Democrat of all time. If you want to get to the part about his political activism, just look between ‘Imprisonment, divorce, parole’ & ‘Murders’ when you hit the link.

And to you leftarded trolls, feel free to come back & call me a Nazi while defending him, ‘K?

    Cheers!

  17. Kent says:

Actually, I think the news report is Saudi Arabia, and it’s $75 a barrel.
But trolls were never good with geography, or numbers, or facts, or really anything else.

I just finished Robert Zubrin’s book “Energy Victory” – INTENSELY RECOMMENDED.

  18. Freemon Sandlewould says:

Energy Victory …. just read the synopsis on Amazon. Pretty much everything you already knew …. at least I did. What have I missed in the synopsis?

  19. Jimmy says:

So! Who has the White House Kool Aid concession? Hmmmm??

  20. marvin says:

I thought we were talking about Jim Jones. Stupid liberals can’t even figure out what comment to rant about, then they throw us all for a loop. I guess if the kool-aid doesn’t kill you, it just confuses you.

  21. Spock says:

Obama was a community organizer and so therefore you got beat by a community organizer. If you think a community organizer is lame than you must be extraordinarily lame.

It looks like your chickens have come home to roost!

    Wow, somebody has no life.

  23. WAL says:

Wait a minute, I’m pointing out that a guy who has a screen name of “Spock” has no life . . .

I’ll admit that one was kind of unnecessary.

  24. WAL says:

got their butts kicked by a former community organizer.

Who cares about whether he’s a community organizer?

I have a decent job and prospects with actual women – whereas you’re a guy who goes by the screen name of “Spock”, posts multiple replies to himself late at night on the internet, and in all likelihood you’ve never touched a girl.

Seriously, whether Obama’s President or not President, I win at life. You fail.

  25. Tommy the Towelhead says:

There were only two Spocks I know about. One of them was a fictional Vulcan with pointy ears and impeccable logic, and the other destroyed a couple of generations of children. Methinks the utter lack of logic in the aforementioned posts rules out Spock #1.

  26. WAL says:

Now it looks like I’m a dick – in my defense, there were more replies between the second and third responses that were deleted.

  27. Idaho Spud says:

All I know is that since the election guns have gone up in value. Buy gold hell, buy guns!! Are poison bullets redundant?

  28. ussjimmycarter says:

I missed the “community organizer” fork in the road somewhere in my life! I don’t remember it ever being presented to me as an option. So what’s up with that! I feel left out! I would have made a fine community organizer and would have organizered the sh!t out of communities had I just been told that they needed organizering! Can I get a do over?

  29. Basil says:

    >WAL:
    >…there were more replies between the second and third responses that were deleted…

I wouldn’t sweat it. Think of it as the spam filters performing a late-term abortion on a spammer.

The left-wing spammers ought to understand that.

  30. Son of Bob says:

My community never needed to be organized. We pretty much took care of ourselves, and each other, without any unwanted elitist socialist intervention.

  31. BadAndy says:

I don’t think the term community organizer makes any sense. The roots of the word community mean coming together, right? So since a community has already come together, why does it need to be organized?

Just another useless concept from the left.

  32. TerribleTroy says:

Bad Andy has a point! I mean what is a disorganized community? Would it be like a “hamlet” or maybe it would be a “random”? I dont know .. thats some deeeeeep Shite right der!

  33. Don Anonagon says:

Speaking of coming home to roost, the mortgage meltdown can be laid at the feet of Bill Clinton. My source? the NYTimes ’99.

Liberals don’t care about the law, they don’t care about the truth, they don’t care about the right thing to do. They only care about what they want RIGHT NOW. And that is usually deviant sex, illegal drugs, or sneaking some bastard born in Kenya under the radar all the way to the White boy House.

  34. WAL says:

    “White boy House”

    ?

  35. AlanABQ says:

    In Obamerika, community organizes you!

I stole part of that from another commenter, so whoever it was…sorry. It’s just what I do; I’m a community dis-organizer.

  36. HCG says:

#7 PoopHead – I’d be OK with changing our name to “Club Stupid”. Your attempt at an insult actually fits us perfectly. If the club was for libtards, it would be a noun followed by an adjective. For IMAO and Co., it is a verb followed by an object. It correlates well to Frank’s requirement that all blog contributors support hippie-punching, but with a low-tech weapons upgrade. I suggest you wear a helmet next time you drop by to post.

BTW, we don’t support war just for the fun of it. When US servicemen are in harms way, we support them and their cause 100%. We might not agree with the conflict, but we are enlightened enough to realize that publicly bashing the war effort is demoralizing to the troops and encourages our country’s enemies. Get a clue. If you can’t get a clue, at least try to make your post entertaining.

  37. TerribleTroy says:

I support War for wars sake. I mean if I didnt support them .. where would we get all our most excellent tunage?

War HUH… GOOD GOD!…… What is it good FOR? Absolutly Nuthin! Say it AGAIN!

War HUH… GOOD GOD!….. What is it good for? Absolutly nuthin!….

Im thinking if I didnt support WAR those guys wuldnt be able to feed thier familes and stuff….. I cant be accused of being a family starver! Staring families are bad…. therefore WAR is good!

Its all about perspective ya know?

  39. kyb says:

HCG’s “…verb followed by an object” remark has me laughing so hard the tears are rolling down my cheeks. The congestion in my lungs is making me sound like Precious Pup when I laugh. This is why I shouldn’t read IMAO while I’m at work.

Terrible Troy – War (with and without Eric Burdon) did some great songs, but the song you’re quoting was performed by Edwin Starr – fwiw
