Trick or Treat, Obama style

Posted by Basil on November 1, 2008 at 9:20 pm

If it seems I’m all up in arms over Obama’s “spread the wealth around” comments, then … well, okay, you got me. I don’t like it.

Not that he said it, because he’s actually telling how he believes.

It’s the belief that I don’t like.

But, as this Gary McCoy cartoon from 2006 shows, it’s nothing new:

This is the sweet spouse’s new favorite desk top picture. My daughter sent me a piece of flair on facebook (like a button) that says,” This Halloween I’m going as a Democrat………Now share ALL your candy.”

    I love it.

I live in a neighborhood that’s mostly college students. Not too many trick-or-treaters, ‘cuz there are too many drunken idiots. Like maybe 4 or 5 per year. So a couple days before halloween I stop in Taco Bell and get a handful of hotsauce packets. “Here ya go, kiddies!” as I toss a packet in their bag. They never realize what I’ve done. When I tell people about it, half of them laugh, and half think I’m a dirty old b*stard.

I think it’s a pretty good metaphor for Obama’s redistribution policies. Everybody wants something for free, and even when they get something for free, it’s never good enough.

I don’t want to give others my candy because it’s mine, and I got it from trick-or-treating for several ruthless hours. If you don’t go trick-or-treating, you don’t get any candy! Uh, oh, run! The leftist illuminati goblins are infiltrating the neighborhood with large shovels.

    Off topic:

I was hoping for some kind of end-of-election (2 days to go) blogathon here.

This is too good and too funny:

I laughed out loud and am still chuckling.
