Actually, the only time G-d told the Israeliites to wipe out their enemies completely was their vicious enemy, Amalek, who G-d said would always try and kill every one of them if they are left alive. The Israeli King at the time disobeyed this command; believe G-d punished him.

Elsewhere in Scripture, you see G-d commanding that the Israeliites be merciful to their enemies — always leave one side open so the enemy could surrender and retreat, etc. G-d is merciful to all.

As for your confusion on the issue of liberals and muslims, I’ve often said the best evidence that there’s a God is the evidence there’s a devil, and the best evidence of the devil is the behavior of liberals, especially when it comes to their positions on the Christians who die to protect them and the Muslims who blow themselves up to kill them.

Liberal Jews overwhelmingly support Israel (~75%), the problem is that the other “liberals” have a large percentage that do not and the liberal media surely does not support Israel, even when it is so clearly in the right. Alan Dershowitz’s book, The Case For Israel, addresses this somewhat, but the real solution is to recognize is that conservatives are not the kooks the media makes us out to be.
