Even HuffPo admits it's BS. http://www.huffingtonpost.com/harold-ambler/mr-gore-apology-accepted_b_154982.html#postComment

However, I can attest to the fact that when I was a kid the scientists swore to us we'd all die in an ice age - and that would not be long in coming, either. They also swore we'd be buried in mountains of garbage within 20 years, until someone did the math and they looked really stupid, so they switched to the homeless and the ice age again. Then they shut up for a few years and suddenly they came out with global warming. Now it's "climate change."

So yeah, they've been wrong. Every time.

Al Gore has really stepped in it this time. He could have spent the rest of his global warming career collecting money by spreading fear over events that were a century or at least half century in the future. Oh, but that wasn’t good enough for Big Al. He’s now told the biggest global warming whopper of his alarmist career:

AL GORE HAS PREDICTED THAT THE NORTHERN POLAR ICE CAP WILL BE COMPLETELY GONE IN FIVE YEARS!!!

When I heard this I assumed it was a rumor started by skeptics to make Gore look bad. It wasn’t until I viewed the video that I realized what Gore had done. Gore has started a five year credibility countdown timer ticking and it’s up to all of us to make sure that he is held accountable and proven to be a fraud when his dire prediction aimed at drumming up support doesn’t come true.

The mainstream media isn’t going to let this video see the light of day because they, unlike Al, understand the precarious position in which he has placed himself.

It is therefore up to us to spread the word about Big Al’s prediction. He must be exposed for the fear mongering opportunist that he has become.

To view the video, please visit the following site and click on the picture of Big Al holding up five fingers.

http://www.hootervillegazette.com

While visiting this site, you might want to watch a preview of the film “Not Evil, Just wrong” or watch “The Great Global Warming Swindle” which is found in the video section. Happy Viewing!!!

#21 - Dr. Fran Manns,
Thank you!
I hadn't heard that theory before but it makes sense to me.
I've known since I was a kid that physicists studied sub-atomic particles by recording their trails in special vapor chambers.
It didn't occur to me that cosmic rays and other particles could have the same condensation effect in the atmosphere.
I'll have to look into this.
If it's a hoax it's a brilliant one!
If it's not a hoax, I've got more ammo to use against the global warmongers!
either way, Sa-Lute!

Whilst watching tv with my liberal friend, a polar bear and her cub are seen on a floating piece of ice lost and the sad sob announcer comes on begging for $$$$ with pictures of visa and master card etc. to fix global warming. My friend (and former singing teacher) anonounced dead serious that the main reason for global warming was cows passing gas. This same station (Bravo) aired 3 other commercials in sucession showing bogus pictures of rescue dogs and little starving children in Africa, all begging for money, and these were EXPENSIVE commercials. You know how much commercials cost? They are scary expensive. All I'm saying is this is the island of Manhattan and even here there is a sucker every where you look.

<i>What exactly have the global warming scientists provided as proof their right other than their assertions that they’re super-duper sure about anything. Like, what are their records on predictions? How many things have they incorrectly predicted?</i>

Let's review their predictions:

Dennis Kucinich wins the 2008 Presidential election
Lions win the 2009 Super Bowl
The twist makes a big comeback as the "hot" dance
Andrew Sullivan writes a column that makes sense

Nope, they haven't been doing too well, and I haven't even gotten to the climate "science" (it's sort of like political "science").

Keeping in mind that windmills are hazardous to birds, be wary of the unintended consequences of believing and contributing to the all-knowing environmental lobby groups.
Water vapour is the most important green house gas followed by methane. The third important greenhouse gas is CO2, and it does not correlate well with global warming or cooling either; in fact, CO2 in the atmosphere trails warming which is clear natural evidence for its well-studied inverse solubility in water: CO2 dissolves in cold water and bubbles out of warm water. The equilibrium in seawater is very high, making seawater a great 'sink'; CO2 is 34 times more soluble in water than air is soluble in water.
Correlation is not causation to be sure. The causation has been studied, however, and while the radiation from the sun varies only in the fourth decimal place, the magnetism is awesome.
Using a box of air in a Copenhagen lab, physicists traced the growth of clusters of molecules of the kind that build cloud condensation nuclei. These are specks of sulphuric acid on which cloud droplets form. High-energy particles driven through the laboratory ceiling by exploded stars far away in the Galaxy - the cosmic rays - liberate electrons in the air, which help the molecular clusters to form much faster than climate scientists have modeled in the atmosphere. That may explain the link between cosmic rays, cloudiness and climate change.
As I understand it, the hypothesis of the Danish National Space Center goes as follows:
Quiet sun → reduced magnetic and thermal flux = reduced solar wind → geomagnetic shield drops → galactic cosmic ray flux → more low-level clouds and more snow → more albedo effect (more heat reflected) → colder climate
Active sun → enhanced magnetic and thermal flux = solar wind → geomagnetic shield response → less low-level clouds → less albedo (less heat reflected) → warmer climate
That is how the bulk of climate change might work, coupled with (modulated by) sunspot peak frequency there are cycles of global warming and cooling like waves in the ocean. When the waves are closely spaced, the planets warm; when the waves are spaced farther apart, the planets cool.
The ultimate cause of the solar magnetic cycle may be cyclicity in the Sun-Jupiter centre of gravity. We await more on that. In addition, although the post 60s warming period is over, it has allowed the principal green house gas, water vapour, to kick in with humidity, clouds, rain and snow depending on where you live to provide the negative feedback that scientists use to explain the existence of complex life on Earth for 550 million years. The planet heats and cools naturally and our gasses are the thermostat.
Check the web site of the Danish National Space Center.

"4. Use force and threat of force to silence critics."

The first research I ever did on Global BS was in 1990 for an English paper. Even then I saw that at best it worst it was a cyclic phenom, most likely there was insufficient data to say anything. This was going in a true believer.

The college English teacher didn't like my conclusions. I clearly didn't do enough "proper" research and just made stuff up. Never mind the bibliography. I doubt he checked.

I failed the paper and have had it out for English teachers ever since.

1. Invent crisis.
2. Stir up public hysteria.
3. Offer public hope of rescue from crisis in return for public's treasure, property, and freedom.
4. Use force and threat of force to silence critics.
5. Repeat.

If it's not the climate, it'd be UFOs, bird-flu, over-population, wars and rumors-of-wars, pesticides, class-envy, Man-Bear-Pig, or even the Joooos.
The common thread is being told to trust what the 'experts' tell you.

When government dry bones you up the nether region you should just comfort yourself with the phrase that the incessant gimps bleat -- "it's in the name of the law! in the name of the law!"

Don't worry about complaining too much because they afix a ball gag on you first. Government is an assertive but yet loving dominatrix with master black intruder strap on. You? You are the entertainment and yet strangely enough you have to pay them to entertain them. It's different than Hollywood that way.

This cooling period just means our numbers were off by a little. We need to quadruple the size of our grants so we can refine the numbers properly. It is only because you didn't give us enough money. Oh, and it must be soon before we all die from cannibalism.

Some of you are missing the point. It's the same meteorologist that give you such accurate weather for the next day, that are telling you what it's going to be like in 10-20 years. Lots of people with specialized degrees practice law and medicine. May scientist should practice science too.

When 4500 US scientists, climatologists, and researchers sign and send the 'Oregon Petition' protesting the lack of proper science, the intellectual dishonesty, and self-serving social and political agendas of the Global Warming cabal, it is dismissed as the work of idiot, right-wing reactionaries in cahoots with the evil capitalists...

Hell, even NASA is braying and bleating about impending doom about 'Global Climate Change'. (Note how we have gone from Global Warming to Global Climate Change...even Al Gore is having a tough time evading and ignoring the growing evidence of a cooling Earth.) NASA, which was once a shit-hot group who got things done and put men on the Moon...is now just another bloated Federal agency more concerned about budget and funding then in promoting the exploration of space. Apparently space exploration is too hard and risky...better to jump on the weather bandwagon and use satellites instead to monitor our gas fireplace emissions......

Now how did I go from sad polar bears to NASA??? I think the holidays have aggravated my ADD.

There's more sea ice now than in 1979, including the Arctic.

http://www.dailytech.com/Article.aspx?newsid=13834

Some scientists predicted the arctic would melt away completely this last summer:

http://www.treehugger.com/files/2008/03/arctic-ice-cap-gone.php

My prediction is that no-one will hold these super-duper smart high priests of science accountable for their spectacularly wrong predictions, and they’ll get much larger grants going forward.

My personal favorite is to ask my Global Whining friends to explain how CO2 increases global temperatures since carbon can only absorb a finite amount of energy. Or how historically atmospheric carbon levels correlate to rise in global temperatures. It actually does. Historically 800 years AFTER GLOBAL TEMPS RISE, CO2 levels also raise. Now try to explain how CO2 is CAUSING global warming.

I can't believe I ever bought into this crap... (You gotta admit at the time, Capitan Planet looked wicked cool in that green Mullet)! Global Warming is based on a false belief of CO2 is a magic gas that will destroy everything. When you see that there isn't any concrete evidence that Carbon ever increased world temperatures, the rest of the theory falls apart.

Now they're calling it "global weirding" (no kidding), and the assumption is that weather is supposed to be totally regular and stable, not like it's weather or something, and that any variation from the norms of the past is the result of human miscreants.

No, really. I'm not making this up.

If it's impossible to conduct an experiment on the world's climate, can climatology still be called a science? Or is it just correlation theory? That is the question.

Man-made "Global Warming" is a nexus of bad science: intellectual dishonesty, unethical behavior, and grant money from Socialist groups.

As long as the role of rainfall is not factored, nothing that is predicted is realistic. Why then should America economically bind itself with treaties and mandates that will accomplish nothing except warm and fuzzy feelings for pantheists?

Well, the conventional response would be that the extended lack of sunspots has pushed down global temps in the last few years sharply, as it typically does, and that when the sunspots get going again the temperature will soar.

In other words, we'll find out in a few years. The biggest tragedy of the "global warming" fiasco, <i>should it prove to be false</i>, is that it will have destroyed any faith in climatological science for a generation. That would be sad, and reason enough to have Jim Hansen and the entire UN climate panel taken out and shot.
