Perhaps since we have a major illegal invasion problem, and since Obama is all about creating more government workers, and since we have many people (especially in California) who are out of work, the answer is simple:

Hire out-of-work Californians to round up and deport illegal invaders. Once millions are deported, without the massive drain of illegals California’s economy will rebound and the newly hired border agents can return to jobs in the private sector.

Unemployment in California shot up to its highest level in nearly 26 years in January, leaving more than 1 in 10 workers without a job.

Just couldn’t happen to better people. Sanctuary cities, lax border enforcement, nanny state, give’m everything. The big problem is, that one will give them OUR money to sustain their sorry communist arses.

So if we just fed them illegal for 2 or three meals, that would be their job, and ta da, unemployment goes down.

My company just closed its Mexifornia Corporate Office and moved to TN. We got the usual corporate blah, blah, blah about why. The reason is they want to reduce their overhead. Must be a big savings for the big wiggs to move from the LA area. Take that Arnold!

But the last surgeon had them all beat when he noted that illegal aliens had untraceable body parts and will sell them for cash. The D.C. surgeon (who is Chinese) just smiled.

See, the problem is we get the issue wrong. Its not really about illegal immigration, per se, but the black market for labor. Why a black market? the same reason all black markets exist: to get around regulation. in this particular case, to get around the minimum wage. Now, of course in creating a black market, most legal residents want nothing to do with the black market for labor, so they are overwhelmingly illegal immigrants, but that is what this is really about: getting around onerous regulation.

Just remember that little bit of hypocrisy the next time the dems claim to be for regulation. they built their own loophole.

FWIW, it’s not fifth, it’s ninth, in a dead heat with Italy. California is a port of convenience for China, and a hole to dump all the water that would otherwise be used in Colorado, Utah, Nevada, New Mexico and Arizona. To hell with California. Shut off the water, stop giving them oil and electricity. Boycott avocados. And don’t let them out, either. What a great movie that’ll make. Should gross 40 mil the first weekend.

California has nothing we want or need. It has turned itself into a sucking, festering wound on the body of the republic. Tie it off like a tumor, and let it shrivel and die.

I want immigration to be reformed in the following way:
1) Anyone who isn’t on a restriction list (terrorists etc) can come in
2) Anyone coming in must present identification. We will take finger prints and a DNA sample
3) Immigrants must report in regularly so we can keep tabs
4) Able-bodied citizens who have never held a grown-up job by the age of thirty and still live with room mates or parents will be deported

That last part is important in order to maintain balance

You are one among the silent champions of a capitalistic society, and should be DAMN PROUD! I worked a full-time job (as a fry-cook no less) 10pm- 5:30am Mon.- Sat, AND went to a community college FULL-TIME for a solid year. My job was 2 miles from my apt., and school was 3.5 miles from apt. in the other direction. I was fresh out of the Marine Corp. and my only mode of transportation was a 10 speed bicycle. Did I mention I live in Indiana? Riding a 10 speed in the snow is neither fun, nor terribly effective at times, but I endured. NO-ONE ELSE was going to care for me!
I’m of German/Irish decent, yes I too am the product of immigrants. LEGAL IMMIGRANTS! Legalities are the key. You’re right to say the left does NOT care about the law anymore than to figure a way around it. Unless, of course you mention the SECOND AMENDMENT, then laws must be followed by the letter.
I was a GOOD cub scout (“Be prepared”), and refined some specialty skills in my time in service. My powder is all dry, and my arsenal grows by the day. I don’t advocate ANY type of uprising, but I think I see one coming anyway, and I for one will be ready.
ILLEGAL IMMIGRATION is a HUGE problem in this country today, but not the only one. Out of control spending by congress, “bailing-out” banks and the auto industries, repealing the Bush tax cuts, and the list goes on. Washington does not seem to want to represent their constituents anymore.
RESPONSIBLE people, who are not AFRAID of work, are what has kept this nation great for more than 200 years. I just hope I’m not witnessing the beginning of the end of this great “experiment in democracy”.

California is the canary in the coal mine, and it’s dying. The point however is that the Obama administration is going to learn nothing from it. They’re going to take the entire USA down the same shaft as the canary, and at warp speed.

The stupid bastards are going to repeat the mistakes of the great depression….., ‘tax the rich’, and go at least partially protectionist. A high school kid being taught history would understand this is economic suicide. un****believable.

I can only conclude they are intentionally trying to put capitalism out of business as soon as possible, and nationalize all major and necessary industry. Banks, Wall Street, US Autos, Airlines, HEALTH CARE,.. Energy will be taxed into oblivion with this cap and trade BS. Watch and see if the Homebuilders aren’t the next ones up on the block along with major sections of the food industry. Everything a person needs to survive under significant government control. And the kids and Obama suporters don’t see anything wrong with it. I talk to em all the time.

I’ll bet the Canadian PM ripped Obama a new one when he was up there btw.

Obama is incompetent along with at least 80% of his cabinet. 4 years…. Kiss it goodbye folks.

Its so true, you may be over-qualified and not get hired for middle of the road jobs, but McDonalds won’t turn anyone away, they don’t care about turnover that much. Picking fruit – same there.

I would bet that if you took out illegals (about 15 million of them) that our unemployment would be near 3%. Underemployment would certainly be higher, but a job is better than no job, and unless you are a Liberal, better than welfare.

…and studies show that people don’t find jobs until their unemployment benefits are about over. So, extending unemployment benefits will simply keep people unemployed longer. I own a fast food restaurant, and I’ve never had so many applications as this past two months. Work is work, and work is honorable.
