Tea Party Day!

Posted by Frank J. on April 15, 2009 at 9:32 am

I’ve been paid thousands of dollars by mysterious right-wing entities to say I think that the Tea Parties are a great thing and I support them in a spontaneous fashion. I even got some Spiced Chai Tea to drink for the occasion. That’s what I’m supposed to do today, right? Drink tea? I guess I better consult the people pulling the strings the average tax-payer who has spontaneously decided to take to the streets.

I kinda feel like a bad conservative for not paying more attention to the tea parties, but it’s just that protesting is anathema to everything I am as a conservative. I’m one of those actual conservatives — the ones with a 9 to 5 — and I stand by my principle that being a conservative means you almost always have something more important to worry about than politics. Then again, a lot of conservatives don’t have jobs today and that’s a big part of the problem. And the giant check I had to write for taxes this year isn’t making me much happier about the billions being mindlessly spent on pork to help fight our enemy Eurasia or whatever excuse they gave us.

So, hopefully there will be a big impact. Fred and Jeri Thompson will be on PJTV later today to host some Tea Party coverage. Fred Thompson promises to explode a hippie head. Why? Because it’s tea party day!

So tell me what you’re up to today in the comments.

Although I am a conservative too, with a 9-to-5 job (for now), I’m going to a Tea Party in Washington, at the Treasury Building. It should be a good turnout despite the rain.

  2. reality intrudes says:

Our friends and we are making signs and standing up for our freedom! It is real education for our daughter too. We gotta go.

We are deep in lib territory and it may get “interesting” but this is real life and must be fully lived.

  3. Silicon Valley Jim says:

Spiced Chai Tea? That’s not the FrankJ whom we all know and love. Something straightforward, like Lipton’s, maybe with some brandy in it.

  4. MadMD says:

What a lame post! You have “a 9-5″. You may as well join the libs that jabber, but never act, while looking for accolades. Next year when the tax cuts expire, then maybe you will be spurred to action.

  5. RightWingWhacko says:

I thought it was T-back parties. I guess tea parties are okay too!

  6. General_Buck_Turgidson says:

I will be in front of City Hall tonight (7-9pm) in NYC with my sign that says “If we lose our ability to fail, we lose our ability to succeed” on one side, and Exurban Jon’s Photoshopped Obama-Pirate on the other side with the text “arrrrgh, stop plundering me children’s futures”. My folks will be making the rounds at the various seattle tea-parties with their right wing attack dog and his “taxes bite!” shirt. Fox news is saying 5k-10k people are expected in the major cities. I hope that happens, but if it looks like we’re going to fall short, maybe we could pull a trick from the libtard playbook and go get some “undocumented residents” to march along with us. They’d probably have to be from canadia for it to be believable though, eh?

Luckly the protest are comming to me (as they always do.) I love Protests! It’s like your favorite trashy talk shows comes out of the Trailor Park and do a live version for everyone to see. Since I work down near where my state’s elected officials are I get to see a lot. I’ve seen protest for/against gay marriage (Funny I’ve never seen Larry Craig at either of the protests.), Keep/Kill all the Wolves, One about midwife issues, and lots of War Protests (Since I guess States have a say in what wars we are in. Never knew there were so many Federalists in the Democrat party. I wonder if the DHS will arest the protesters for extreemist activities now).

The best is War protest. Inevitably when some stupid Know it all College Hippie is giving a speach rambling on about the American War Machine, This Big Biker who served in Vietnam with the 1st CAV shows up. The Bikers son was killed in Iraq in 2005. He shows up to make sure they don’t use his sons name in any protest (Which they almost always do). From my personal experience Hippies and Bikers don’t mix well.

I’m a stay-at-home, work-from-home mom who can’t go to the tea party because I’ve got a 3 year old and a big project due today. Plus it’s raining with a chance of snow. So I’m wimping out and staying home. I will drink herbal orange spice tea instead!

  9. hcig says:

i was doing tea parties before it was cool!

orlando here, i wish i could go to the alamo though

  10. Mark says:

I’m an 8-5 guy myself but I’m taking FTO this afternoon to attend the Boise rally. Sorry you won’t be freezing your butt off with us. :)
Guess the itinerary has just changed – they’re doing a park tour instead of the Capitol building. Going from Morrison to Davis to Capitol parks if my info is correct…

  11. Live Free Or Die says:

I thought it was T-Rex party day, my T-Rex will be shooting off his rocket-launcher this evening.Prepare for the rockets red glare, the bombs bursting in air.

  12. erg says:

You might be a right-wing extremist if every morning after you wake up, you need to check the front yard to see if your neighbors have stolen your border security signs.

You might be a right wing extremist if the land of your father, and his father, that now is your land – is now property that belongs to you, not for just any government body to claim for their benefit.

  13. Judy says:

    Tea Party in KY today!

  14. BigRichardSmall says:

Your info is correct Mark. You should be at Capitol Park in front of the Idaho state Capitol Building by 12:30. This would have been great location except that the State Capital is currently under construction. Hopefully the Legislature will look out their offices in the Old Ada County court house, and the Governor can see the protest through the trees blocking his view from the Borah Building. One thing is for sure, All the construction workers rebuilding the capitol building will know we aren’t taking this outrageous spending anymore!

  15. erg says:

You might be a right wing extremist when someone suggests you do your part in saving the planet and you instinctivly look around for the first hippie to punch.

  16. Aaron Horrocks says:

Are these the seeds for a new civil war, or what? There’s some crazy stuff happening these days.

  17. Lechteron says:

To 12: Not if we can save the country in 2010 (Sounds so futuristic talking about 2010. Ha ha.). We might need one if we can’t stop that one then though.

  18. Lechteron says:

You might be a right wing extremist if you attend a non-government approved church. You know we’re going to getting those soon. Probably through DHS.

  19. Fast Eddie says:

    I’ll be here today: http://www.nepateaparty.com/

  20. STORM19111 says:

You might be a right-wing extremist if you mail a bucket to the White House to help the economy. +

  21. Veeshir says:

I just got back from the one in DC. I have to wonder if I saw “Bitter Clinger”.
Bitter, did you have a sign identifying yourself as a bitter clinger? I saw two of those I think (both hand-made and both different), and have a pic of at least one.

The crowd kept getting bigger even though the rain kept coming down harder. I left before 1 and there were still plenty of people streaming in.

There were some great signs. I even had to think some happy thoughts about the one that said, “Ron Paul was right”.

  22. bikermommy says:

your mother-in-law has already Tea Partied baby! and again this evening…the best speaker was a LEGAL immigrant from Mexico who got here the right way and became a citizen…said she guessed she was considered a Hispanic American but she wasn’t…she was AN AMERICAN. PERIOD. And she was mad as hell at the tyranny she feels is coming to our great nation. We gave her one stupendous cheer!Yay for the legal immigrants!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! We love you!

  23. James says:

I attended a Tea Party in Illinois. Now I am abusing myself for being a damn dirty protesting hippie.

  24. PammyV says:

I had every intention of going to the one in Vegas….but I ended up with a sick kid today. Since we homeschool, I can’t drop him off at the local elementary school. This was going to be an awesome lesson for the kids. We’re watching the protests on Fox instead.

  25. DesertElephant says:

I’m watching the clock until I leave work (After my shift, thank you Frank the Shiftless) and pick up my girlfriend to go protest at the state Senate here in AZ. I have exercised the 2nd and most of the 1st amendment. Peacefully assemble was the last checkbox to tick.

  26. IH8Socialist says:

took the day off to go to the Tea Party in my area. Gald I did, it was great.

  27. reality intrudes says:

    Handy tip for protesters:

If some Lib gives you the finger blow them a kiss. They explode! They just don’t know what to do with that! Its a hoot!

We just got back from a Tea Party in Sonoma County California. Lots of great signs, rallying and singing too! Almost no fingers. Lots of thumbs up and honks. It was fun.

  28. Kent says:

I was in Chicago. My signs were:

The Barocky Horror Picture Show (with the Pelosi/Reid American Gothic pic at the top, like Riff Raff and Magenta)
No More Pelosi-Whipped Budgets! (with the deficit graph from the CBO that is on puppy blender after it)
Both of these are in the Rocky Horror dripping blood font, so the red ink of the CBO graph matched the dripping blood font.

Allowing Leftist Existentialists to Run the Economy is like Trying to Draw the Mona Lisa on an Etch-a-Sketch During an Earthquake

Imagine No Possessions. / It isn’t Hard to Do./ Not a pot to P-ss In / Just Sitting in our Poo.

Jonathan Hoenig (The Capitalist Pig on Fox News) loved the last one and autographed it for me. A couple other people loved the first two and were taking pictures of it and laughing before they spoke. Anyway, if you are curious as to what I look like, at least a dozen people stopped me for pictures of the top two. They’re probably out there somewhere.

My goal was to be funny, but also to poke lefties with things they treasure, like Rocky Horror, using Bush as a vaginal wordplay for 30 FREAKING years, and that bat-sh1t song from John Lennon.

My faves were a picture of money with eyes on top and “It’s the money you could be saving with McCain”. A portrait of George Washington looking very formal with “WTF!” in a balloon by his head. Barney Frank as a pimp with “America’s my whore!” across the top. A guy with “Help me mister Obama! They want me to WORK and stuff!”. “Mr Geithner, may I borrow your Turbotax?”

  29. NunyaB says:

Good turnout at Vegas tea party too this afternoonl I was there for about 2 hours after work.

Did not see any moonbats, but I did see lots of good signs (like “Obama = Marxist Genius & Economic Idiot”), friendy people, dogs and kids, and HONKS!

Police were visible but far back in the distance, with nothing to do we were that peaceful.

    Will work for lower taxes.
Which are you drinking? (pictures of tea-bag and pitcher of koolaid)
Memphis loves BBQ, not pork projects.
    Don’t tax me bro!

    idiOt.
    Tea-tea on Obama!

Paul Shanklin was there, giving out copies of his parody CD’s.
    Mood was good.
    I’m glad I went.
