My suggestion is to find ALL of those involved in “The Chicago Incident” (you know where they beat the kid to death) and send them into Iran. The thugs will be so incensed to know they can’t find a HIp-Hop station or channel, fast food or slutty chicks they’ll go on a rampage within about 60 minutes of landing at the airport.

I think it’s safe to say the majority of the people ACORN “helps” are on the tax leaching, not paying end of the

Obama One Q’Daffy really has a plan, that doesn’t include sanctions. Obama secures the Olympic bid – immediately turns around and bestows it on Iran. They’ll be so busy working on that, there won’t be manpower ( or $$$) for anything else. And the debt, will go on & on & on.

We shouldn’t confuse sanctions with embargos or blockades. Sanctions are basically talk until methods are selected and used. Well it has been all talk for years.

Sanctions can have an effect, but only if Russia and China and the EU will be serious about them and end almost all trade. There is no reason to think the Russians will. And the Chinese almost certainly will not. But more surprising things have happened – the Mets in 1969 maybe.

Strict embargos would not cripple Iran but they would greatly increase the cost of everything they manage to import, and at the same time reduce their inflow of foreign currency to pay for them. Their buddies such as Chavez in Venezuela would continue to supply some material to them. It is doubtful if regime change would follow, as #9 says it is very hard to overthrow ruthless rulers.

Sanctions only work in situations where the people, when suffering the deprivations caused by the sanctions, can put pressure on their government to end their suffering. Or if the sanctions actually affect those at the top.

In places like Iran or North Korea, those in power are the last ones in the country who will suffer any shortages from sanctions. And while their people may suffer, those same people have no power to demand any change of policy.
