   The key, of course, is to try to make yourself appear larger and more menacing than the adversity. It hates that!

   Adversity, unlike some larger vermin and varmints, can easily be taken down with .22 Long Rifle.

    I find that putting a flashlight up to my chin will scare adversity away.
