Housebreaking the GOP

I like this Doug Hoffman revolt in NY23. A lot of Republicans think they can put an ‘R’ on a turd sandwich and conservatives are supposed to choke it down without saying a word. No way. Republicans are supposed to try and get the most conservative candidate who can win, but in NY23 it’s like they got someone who mis-checked her party on her voter registration. Fred Thompson, who the sun was instructed as a child to never stare directly at, explains it here:

Better the Republicans learn this lesson now than in 2010. I have a feeling they’re going to screw up that big opportunity, but maybe if we just consistently whap them on the nose every time they’re being bad eventually they’ll learn.

Oh, and a tip for Hoffman: Change your name to “Dog Hoffman.” Makes you sound like a badass biker dude.

Scozzabagger? Scuzzaflava? Scruntf*? Where do they get these retarded names?
And Norway called. They want their dead music composers’ name back.

“Change your name to “Dog Hoffman.” Makes you sound like a badass biker dude.”
    … or a dumb-ass bounty hunter

  3. ussjimmycarter says:

He should change his name to Ben Dover Steele-Hoffman or Peter Puffer Gingrich-Hoffman or Dick Smoker Spectre-Hoffman.

  4. IH8Socialist says:

why has it been that the last few elections the choices have been a turd sandwich or a giant douche? Isn’t there anyone better to run for anything?

  5. Live Free Or Die says:

He could change his name to Dustin, name recognition would go WAY up.

  6. storm1911 says:

How about Doug Rambo-Norris-Thompson? A hyphenated name will attract misguided liberals, and is macho enough for the rest of us.

  7. storm1911 says:

I blame the current Obana fiasco on the Republicans. We know democrats are wimpy crybaby idiots. We know what they will do. The Republicans are su[possed to be the adults. Time to man-up. Before Sarah Palin gives them a good spanking.

The Clinton years were brought to us by the loser Bush and Dole campaigns. Republicans can win as long as they don’t run someone wimpier and dopier than the democrats.

  8. Live Free Or Die says:

Dog Hoffman, CPA, yeah that sounds like a badass biker dude
Short, daily news releases from the Hoffman campaign should be called Hoffman Hollowpoints

  9. Tim says:

Before Sarah Palin gives them a good spanking.

… can Sarah spank us anyway? Wait… did I just say that out-loud? 8)

“Just because we’re Republicans doesn’t mean we’re deaf, dumb and blind.” -Fred

True, Fred, but a lot of ‘Republicans’ ARE deaf, dumb and blind – and conflicted, closet liberals.

The fight is on for the heart and soul of the Republican Party.

  11. DesertElephant says:

    Jimmy,

The fight was lost after the 2004 Reelection of Bush. Just took a while for the body to realize the head was dead. Bush turned lame duck and most other reps just became lame.

  12. Sgt Relic says:

“Green” Newt thinks conservatives are Rezombicans. Wrong again, Newt!

  13. AuntWie says:

2010 is the big reason I’ve been donating to Hoffman in 2009. I’ll support conservative Republicans. I won’t support liberals. Period. The RNC can either get it or get out of the way.

@ #8. Live Free or Die:
    Hoffman Hollowpoints. Heh.

  14. Son of Bob says:

The crucial battle is defeating our own good ol’ boy party representatives…King Boehner the Useless, McCain, Huckabee, Steele, Graham, and phoney Newt. Once the party gets behind more Thompson, Palin, Bachman and less “I-want-more-TV-face-time” spineless RINO’s defeating the libs is easy.

Can that be done? Absolutely. Specter down, several more to go!

  15. Barb says:

This isn’t going to be too popular, and I’m sure not supporting anybody in this race–Blue State Republicans are a weird bunch–but if you check the Vote Smart voting records and that letter from a local mayor that’s on Instapundit just now, well, Dede S. is the most conservative candidate who can win. Sigh.

  16. Jim says:

    Sarah Palin – spanking?
    No I won’t go there
