Obama’s Home Teleprompter Malfuncitons During Family Dinner

Really late to the party (I barely ever make teleprompter references any more), but they manage to squeeze some more humor out of it. See, you can make fun of Obama if you’re actually funny and not a drooling sycophant:

had to look up sycophant in Wikipedia Forever! I already know what drooling means.

In a modern context a sycophant (from the Greek συκοφάντης sykophántēs) is a servile person who, acting in his or her own self-interest, attempts to win favor by flattering one or more influential persons, or by saying lies against a fellow citizen for gaining a kind of profit. These actions are executed at the cost of his or her own personal pride, principles, and peer respect. Such a manner is also called obsequiousness.

most of that sounds hard but I think I could handle saying lies for profit. Where do I sign up and who pays me anyway?

It makes me really happy that The Onion isn’t bowing before this President like … well, like this President before any other leader from anywhere else.

The bit about Reagan in the middle seemed superfluous, and may have been there simply as a slight reminder that The Onion isn’t Scrappleface … but that’s fine. I’m just glad to see that the good ol’ Onion isn’t turning into the Huff Po.

everyone who voted for Obama is a drooling idiot.

First timer on this site, and what a fantastic first read. I actually choked on a chocolate chip cookie, “help him speak, blink and breathe” and the pumpkin patch incident… Hilarious.

I wonder if TOTUS helps him in the sack with M’Shel?

Assuming of course that Barry and M’Shel sleep in the same bed room

OTOH, I’m not sure I really wanna know the answer so nevermind

I guess better late than never for the Onion. They let a tremendous amount of material get away since January. These days the Drudge Report is handling the Onions former role, except they are real stories! Fake congressional districts?? You can’t make that stuff up!

  8. Catie says:

Maybe he should start sending TOTUS on diplomatic visits in his stead. After all, it’s kind of difficult for a teleprompter to bow to anyone…

  9. Eros says:

“…Joe Biden is know for reading remarks off of his forearm where he’s written them in magic marker..” Now that’s comedy!

Just had to watch it again … the best line in the whole bit is the part about screaming himself hoarse during the “CAPS LOCK INCIDENT.”

  12. Daniel says:

actually, they made a joke back during the early days of the presidency, but it was a series of ticker jokes, not whole reports

damnit all i love the onion
