My Reaction to the State of the Union of the Address

Posted by Frank J. on January 28, 2010 at 11:04 am

Actually, I didn’t see any of it. At all. Well, I saw that one clip where Obama was talking about that recent Supreme Court decision and Alito was shaking his head and mouthing, “Not true.”

So that’s my reaction: Not true. Obama said a lot of things that were not true.

But man, it got crazy when Obama saw Alito and was like, “What did you just say?”

And Alito was like, “I said, ‘Not true’. Did those Dumbo ears you have miss that?”

And Obama was all angry and screamed, “Shouldn’t you be filming a new episode of Jersey Shore, guido?”

And Alito was like, “That’s it, Twiggy! You’re going down!”

And Alito ran up and tackled Obama, and Biden was all scared, flailing his arms about and yelling, “Biden scared!” And Nancy Pelosi just stood there in a trance, staring forward and blinking rapidly.

And then Alito lifted Obama over his head and yelled, “I am now president!” Which makes him now president by the rules in the Constitution… according to Alito. He’s a Supreme Court Justice, so he would know.

Best. State of the Union Address. Ever. Next time I’ll definitely pay to watch it on Pay-Per-View.

    If only.

Interesting to find out that, up until last night, the thing that Chris Matthews was thinking of every time he watched Obama was how Obama was black. Glad he was able to get past that last night…it was a big night for Chris.

Alito and scalia can arrange a horse head to appear on the White House bedroom pillow. I’d say a horse’s ass but they wers itting behind Obama.

  4. storm1911 says:

“Whatcha gonna do when Alitomania runs wild over you?”

  5. Genghis Khen says:

I didn’t watch it either, but I heard there was a lot of shoe throwing. Was that before or after the Alito/Obama smashdown?

  6. shiggz says:

So according to Obama, the problem is stupid, ignorant, lying, evil, Republicans who are being partisan.

  7. TerribleTroy says:

I would have paid money to hear someone yell….. CLIMATE CHANGE!!

  8. Cassie says:

Where were all the children to yell “the Emperor has no clothes!”?

  9. MarkoMancuso says:

Can you smell what Alito is cookin’??

  10. Eric says:

So the Supreme Court says “You can’t Block people or corporations from making donations in anyway they see fit”

Obama responds “OK that’s a horrible thing to do, so congress will pass a bill that says you can”

SC, “It doesn’t work that way, The Constitution says you can’t”

Obama responds, “Fine we’ll pass a bill that says you can’t say that we can’t” then he sticks his tongue out at them and runs away

    ALITO SMASH!!!

I wish I’d watched that one instead! It sounds like way more fun than the speech I saw — and, then maybe I wouldn’t have this “State of the Unionized Drinking Game” hangover. Drink at “jobs,” drink at Pelosi jumping up in glee, drink at “clean energy,” drink at “working families,” drink at . . . .

  13. Peter Buxton says:

Yes, this would be a much better SOTU. With a happy ending, which I normally pay extra for.

  14. Bobarian says:

I did watch it, and it was kind of like that GameFly commercial where people are yelling and screaming and smashing things, except I used a lot more middle fingers than they do in the commercial.

  15. Cactus says:

Barry was a right, proper pulpit bully.

Amazing to hear Barry go on and on about his enemies…he’s got a LOT of scores to settle. Pretty interesting for a guy who has never done anything…never been anywhere long enough to do anything…ever.

How does a paper tiger like Barry get so many ‘enemies’?

  16. Bantha_Fodder says:

can you guess what a toilet paper tiger’s worst enemy is?

The entire country is focusing it’s attention this morning on President Obama’s State of the Union address last night. I have nothing original to add to the discussion other than my view that it seems the prez is trying to jump start his faltering administration. A lot of “the experts” are at the moment dismissing this White House as dead in the water. If they had any concept of history they would know better. Many presidents in the past got off to a bad start. If George W. Bush were judged only on his first year in office, he would today be remembered as one of the worst Chiefs Executive in American history….

Okay, maybe that’s not a good example. Let me try again….

Jack Kennedy had a fairly shaky start in his first year (Remember the Bay of Pigs?) and yet he turned out to be pretty good at the job. A year from will find us at the half way point of Obama’s first (I hope) term. Let’s see what happens between now and then. NOTE TO LIBERALS: To abandon all faithin this president now would not only be foolish, it would be a half-step away from insanity. Chill!

Was this an “In My World?” Sure seems like it. Like it.

  19. Ken says:

Alito’s performance would have been a lot more convincing if the Supreme Court opinion had something like “Wait a second, corporations aren’t people. Only citizens (and enemy combatants) have constitutional rights.” Read all 125 pages of the opinion and then ask yourself why corporations have free speech rights.

  20. IH8Socialist says:

If FrankJ’s version of the speech happened I would have watched.

  21. Son of Bob says:

    Ken,

It’s okay…we understand…as a small, ugly child you were beaten up by a guy that looked like a corporation, and you’ve feared corporations ever since. But, it’s okay corporations won’t hurt you. In fact, those “evil” corporations are the same folks that give you goods and services you depend on to live your life…even the food you eat. And, in the meantime, they provide the jobs that enable folks like you to pay your bills. So, relax little fella. Don’t hate the corporation. After all, the “corporation” is really made up of your friends and neighbors, who are trying hard to work for a living and make a profit by pleasing their customers in order to stay in business. It’ll be okay. You’ll see.

What would have been a lot more “convincing”, however, was if Obama had debated Alito in an open forum where Alito could have expressed the truth of the Constitutionality of the Supreme Court ruling, rather than to be subject to the cowardly POTUS misrepresenting the supreme court ruling at an inappropriate time, deliberately chosen because he knew the members of the court could not correct him, all the while attempting to undermine a separate, but equal, branch of the government in the eyes of the American citizens. Obama was the one who was not “convincing”.

  22. Live Free Or Die says:

And what Alito was mouthing, “Not true.”about, was when Teh One said foreign corporations would influence U.S. elections.
The Supreme Court ruling did not negate laws against FOREIGN corporations influence on U.S. elections.

  23. Silicon Valley Jim says:

Nancy Pelosi just stood there in a trance, staring forward and blinking rapidly.

That’s not actually a trance. Nancy (D – Cosmetic Surgery) has had so many facelifts that blinking is the only thing that she can do rapidly.

  25. zzyzx says:

I too played the “State of the Union Drinking Game.” It ended up costing me a fortune and gave me the worst hangover I’ve ever had. You can’t imagine how much a case of Crown Royal costs these days….I knew I should have used Ripple.

  26. Terry_Jim says:

zzyzx, was that a shot for every “I”, or every lie.

  27. zzyzx says:

Unfortunately both for lies and every I…..zzyzx, still at the alcohol recovery center, Alaska.

I need the 900 number so I can text in my vote for president this week.

  29. 4of7 says:

Saw a clip of the present in Baltimore talking to Republicans today.
He did that cute ‘finger thing’ he does again.
Somebody give him another meaningless award; he needs some positive feedback.
    Poor little fella. (hic)

  30. ussjimmycarter says:

It was announced today that the Supreme Court has ruled the office of POTUS to be unconstitutional….

  31. 4of7 says:

Maybe Alito can get advice from the Honduras Supreme Court, just in case.
