The Massachusetts Election

… as explained by a scene from “Cool Hand Luke”, with George Kennedy as Scott Brown, and Paul Newman as Obama’s health care bill:

Yikes! If you watch the movie, Cool Hand Luke actually wins because he never quits. I hope this video analogy is flawed.

  2. Charon says:

Check out Eric Cantor here, cool as ice, telling these loons that a middle of the road approach isn’t acceptable. Can you believe he actually suggests *gasp* listening to the people?

Daddio: While I understand your sentiment, Luke no more won that fight than did the Black Knight.

  4. Harvey says:

In the clip, CHL ends up beaten to a bloody pulp, no longer a threat to anyone. The fight is over, and everyone goes on about their business.

At the end of the MOVIE, Luke dies.

  5. Daddio says:

He doesn’t win the fight, but he wins the “most popular boy in prison” contest. Dies in the end but lives on in the hearts and minds etc…
Upon rereading your original post, I now see that you referred to just this scene as the explanation. My bad, I love the idea of obamacare as a bloody beaten pulp. Hope we have lots more Scott Brown’s in the coming months!

    Love the blog.

I think back to the scene in The Hunt for Red October when Captain Tupolov is killed by his own torpedo.

“You arrogant ass! You’ve killed us!”.

Starring Obama as Captain Tupolov and the Blue Dogs as Tupolov’s XO.

….And I’ll bet Scott Brown can eat fifty eggs in an hour too!

Off topic, but for the first time, I ventured into the wastes of Democratic Underground.

    I enjoyed it.
