What Would Osama Cut?
Could Osama bin Laden be behind efforts to cut government waste? That’s what Alcee Hastings is wondering (what kind of name is Alcee?). Since Republicans put up a site — YouCut — to allow people to pick what to cut in government, anyone could be doing that picking, including Osama bin Laden! Then again, I remember Obama wasn’t checking donations through his website back in 2008, so for all we know, Osama could have been funding Obama’s campaign. It may not be that Osama support Obama, though; he may just have gotten Obama’s name mixed up with his as we all do and thought he was transferring funds to himself.
Anyway, the Republicans should at least have a warning on their site: “Not for terrorists.” Oversights like that are why I’m getting worried about November. With how we lost in the PA-12 special election, maybe our hopes are too high. Perhaps people actually liked the slogans on my new t-shirt and this is all my fault. Anyway, time to lower expectations. There were talks of a 100 seat pickup, but maybe we should be more like, “I think we’ll gain five more seats. That would be pretty good. We gain more, that would be good to.” And we have to be extra careful to make sure terrorists aren’t trying to cut our government. A good way to do that would be to have the military as an option to cut on YouCut, as only terrorists would pick that.

Yes, Alcee, Osama spends his days voting on youcut as a means to undermine the US. Thank you. I am now afraid of any proposals coming from youcut. In fact, I’m now afraid of the voting on American Idol.
Yes, Alcee this is the US Congress, and when the US Congress wants suggestions it doesn’t hold an interweb poll. Rather the US Congress goes old school and it gets them by inviting a leader of a third rate nation to scold us.

Well, Alcee and the democrats are sure in the position to hold themselves up as having a finger on the pulse of the average American citizen…just look at healthcare, the bailouts, auto company takeovers, bank takeovers, cap and trade, amnesty for illegals, not enforcing the border…umm…well, maybe not.

The cutting the military question would only narrow it down to terrorists and democrats……Oh, I see what you mean. This is a tough one. What to ask that distinguishes democrats from terrorists? I’m drawing a blank here.

I well imagine that if Osama could cut some aspect of spending it would most likely be the funds for the manufacture, deployment, and use of drone aircraft. Oh yeah…and Hellfire missiles too.

I’m thinking we could save a lot of money and make the entire Middle East a glass parking lot. And lest the screech of “racism” float across your consciousness I said the same thing about Northern Ireland (I’m an equal opportunity skewer of idiocy) If people can’t live in a civilized manner maybe they don’t deserve a place to live.
