I think that at some point, this fence will go up. Immediately after this fence goes up, illegals (oh I’m sorry: “undocumented workers”) will continue to climb over it and/or tunnel under it. Then, just as with failing to actually track where/how bailout money is spent, the government will say, “Oh. Oops. I guess we didn’t plan that quite right in the umpteen committees we formed while talking about this.”

Like the Morlucks, the Political Class appear to provide a benevolent existence for their followers at first glance, but in reality they suck the very life out of the people to support their own continued privileged station.

There is not a fence anywhere along the southern or northern borders that I could not cut my way through in minutes! Have you ever heard of a torch? or battery operated tool with a cutting disk? But that isn’t even necessary because most of the existing ‘fences’ are only 5 ft. tall.

This ridiculous dream of constructing 1000′s of miles of un-watched fence (at the cost of 100′s of millions that we don’t have) is just more political crap. All this does is place insane demands on an already microscopal list of ‘right-ish’ candidates which is exactly what the LIEbertarians always do.

Any candidate telling you that he will complete the FENCE all the way across the entire southern border is LYING! And if you believe him, her, or it you are lying to yourself.

This is why Obama will end up winning again. The Republican/Rightwing is stuck on stupid! The problem is politics not lack of a fence.

750 trillion dollars to complete the fence in rough terrain areas sounds a trifle over expensive to me. Can you show your math?
I also think the term “fence” as in chain link used to keep ones dog in the yard is some what limiting. For areas where more conventional types of fence or wall aren’t practical think defense in depth. Razor wire can be strung across almost any terrain and then there are always various type of snares and dead falls as well as numerous variants on the tiger traps (stakes in the bottom versus none for instance) and of course the ever popular sensor activated flame throwers. Obviously there is no better argument for development of dinosaurs with rocket launchers, proving how far-sited the proprietor of this site is. As with any barrier system monitoring, maintenance and patrolling will be required. As the remains of those who fail to penetrate these defenses, left at the end of their journey would make a persuasive argument against attempting illegal entry in the first place and generate some small maintenance savings the proper course of action is obvious. Furthermore as there is surely some areas of high ground on our side of the border overlooking the crossing areas this presents an excellent training opportunity for our sniper teams. I suspect we’re going to need alot more of those teams in the near future.

Support for the border fence is now up to 68%?
I don’t believe that for a second. In the first place it would be IMPOSSIBLE to put a fence across the rugged terrain in the mountains. And then you have flash flood culverts big enough to drive school buses through that cannot be blocked with fencing. It will never happen.

The whole idea is a total joke and another BS political ploy designed to get you to vote for them. Both parties are guilty of this. They are all liars and thieves!

If either party had wanted to fix the immigratiom problem they would have in the 1980′s but they WON’T because it is a VOTE getter. PERIOD! They don’t fix it because they NEED the immigration issues to elect House members in certain districts. And the RepublicOns are just as guilty as the Democrats are.

Now its true that the RepublicOns are a little less corrupt than the Democrats. But to LIE to the right and feed them false hope of a FENCE, that can’t be, and will never be built (cause it will cost 750 trilllion dollars) is despicable.

The lack of a FENCE is not the problem. The problem is politics. Politics is the problem.

Bringing the rat stinkers into the light won’t help. They’ve been down there so long their eyes have degenerated to the degree that they are unable to see anything at all. You could bring them into the blinding beautiful sunlight, but they wouldn’t see a thing. To be fair, though, their ears don’t work so well either.

That they are malicious as well as willfully ignorant is provable truth. As far as the solutions suggested I see no reason to be restricted to any single one, after all variety is the spice of life. Also I’m detecting some bigotry here, should I be prohibited from participating simply because I own a 12 or 16 gauge but not a 20 gauge?
