Trying not to be bitter about the loss to Hawaii

Posted on August 28, 2010 9:28 am

My local Little League baseball team was knocked out of the Little League World Series yesterday. The West team, from Waipahu, Hawaii, beat the Southeast team, from Columbus, Georgia.

Ever since Barack Obama was thrust onto the national scene, the Hawaii has been tainted by association. However, Barack Obama doesn’t have any connection with Hawaii Little League. None whatsoever.

I mean, you’ve seen him try to throw a baseball, right?

Plus, Little League requires a birth certificate.

Nope, Obama has no connection to Hawaiian little league whatsoever. However, Muslim Calls To Prayer in Kenya? Ahh, memories…good times.

Ah, I remember the first time I hit a home run…
It’s easy for me to remember because it was also the Only time I hit a home run.
The down side is that it kind of sucks when ones athletic peak is reached before ones 12th birthday!

Basil you coach Little League. You sir, have unexpected depth! As a former Cub Scout Den leader (3 times-even when I didn’t have a cub scout, long story) I salute you ; )

Obama may have nothing to do with Hawaiian Little League, but The Aloha State is never far from his mind. He’s allegedly involved in the upcoming “Hawaii 5-0″ reboot on CBS. After prodding from Michelle, he’s insisting the Chinese villain Wo Fat be re-written as a good guy, and his name changed to Lo Fat.

I watched part of that game. Fifth inning, I think. The one where Hawaii pulled ahead.

Man, little kids suck at sports. But that makes it more interesting to watch. Saw at least two batters get hit by the pitcher. You don’t see that too often in MLB, I’d imagine. Makes the really good kids stand out more.
