How Long Does It Take for Someone to Admit His Policies Failed?
So Fidel Castro has admitted the Cuban economic model doesn’t work. Considering how much he ran the country into the ground, you’d think he would have figured that out after maybe a decade. Or if not that, surely he would have noticed things hadn’t improved after two decades. And if not that, surely he should have seen how it wasn’t a great idea after three decades — especially when the Soviet Union collapsed. But if that wasn’t enough, you’d think four decades of the ruining the country would be enough to make him say, “Maybe we were wrongheaded.” But, no, it took five decades.
So, anyway, here’s a preview of what Obama will be like fifty years from now. The important thing is that eventually he learns.

One word: DUH

-Almost all People learn pretty quickly when their own backside is on the line. Fidel never lived a day of discomfort just his people did. When Obama loses his job he might learn something bout his “recovery plan” then. Bush walked in right as the .com bubble burst and 9/11. Reagen walked into a collapsing currency and the Savings and Loan scandal and the banking collapses that followed. Obama has noone to honestly blame but himself and those who have chosen to reject reality and live in the marxist bubble that can only exist on college campuses and coffee houses.
If you haven’t read it

Has Carter fessed up yet?

It is easy to not notice the effects of your policies for five decades when you have silenced that pesky concept known as free speech. That is why we need to ban all blogs, radio talk shows, and print media with the exception of the New York Times and Chris Matthews. Only then will things get better.
September 9th, 2010 at 11:40 am
He’ll say the same thing he says now: It was Bush’s fault. However, his remarks will be met with derision and scorn, history having judged Bush’s seven years of prosperity and his handling of The War on Terror (yep, it’s back) in a positive light.

“They burned a Koran. That made my plans fail. It’s all the fault of that evil Boooosh.” B. H. Obama
He has borrowed more money than all the presidents from Washington through Reagan COMBINED. Maybe the banks can’t loan what they have already loaned to the gummint. What a loser.
Obama must be Islamic for Loser.

I give Castro a lot more credit for being self-aware than I do Obama. And I don’t give Castro all that much credit in the first place.
September 9th, 2010 at 12:21 pm
But, Castro didn’t think he was ruining Cuba. Obama is trying to destroy the US. Big difference.
September 9th, 2010 at 12:28 pm
Oooooh castro better watch out or he wont get more hugs from danny glover or sean penn. the marxist in the White House only wishes he were as bad a castro. carter on the other hand is rejoicing about not being the worst in U.S. history anymore.

I wouldn’t read anything into this. Mao admitted that his policies hadn’t worked. He did this several times. Unfortunately for the Chinese people, most of the new plans were worse than the previous ones.
El dictador may have a new plan, but it’s not likely an improvement.
It’s the same for Obama. Forty years from now, he’ll realize his plans were completely wrong. Then, he’ll come to the conclusion that he should have spent even more money while assigning even more blame than he had indeed already done.
To their graves, neither will ever even consider the primacy of empirical evidence over abstract theory.

Ok kids, repeat after me…”Communism isnt cool, no matter what those college kids and democrats say!”

50 years of Obama…a shiver just ran down my spine! We would be looking to Somalia as the shining city on a hill…
September 9th, 2010 at 3:46 pm
No, in 50 years Barack and the Dems will still be saying Bush and the Republicans ran us into the ground and they need more time and money to fix it.
September 9th, 2010 at 5:01 pm
In 50 years, Obozo would be 99 and hopefully all evidence of his grave will be have been lost for like……. 49.8 years. Ain’t no law against wishing…yet.

Castro failed because he didn’t have the czars that obuma has.
September 9th, 2010 at 5:30 pm
But they didn’t fail. Fidel ruled his entire life then turned it over to one of his kids. As far as Fidel is concerned, communism was a spectacular success – he lived a great life! Sure, it sucked for most everybody else, but that’s a small price to pay. For him, anyway.
Ol’ Stogie Breathe is only saying this so he can suck up to the pinkos in the Whitehouse and in Congress. He’s never gonna have so many marxists in DC as he has right now. So WTF, utter a few mindless platitudes (it’s all the rage these days anyway) and maybe he can get some more of the embargo lifted.
Don’t think for a moment that the commies, libs, democrats and other enemies of freedom know for a fact that their policies will bring a heaping helping of misery and poverty. Well, I suppose some of the foot soldiers are too stoooopid to realize it, but I can guarantee you that the leaders know full well what they are doing and what is the inevitable result.

Did anyone else catch the news that he’s appointed a Bedbug Czar? That title would be a real resume builder (as in):
Bumashave, Exalted Czar of All Bedbugs

How many licks does it take to get to the Tootsie Roll center of a Tootsie Pop? Mr. Owl never made it without biting. O-bah-muhh just bites. Totally.
What’s next? Will O-bah-muhh say Fidel’s economic model is ‘Too Big To Fail’, and get the Democrat Congress to pour money into that rat hole?
September 9th, 2010 at 8:06 pm
What Fidel meant, was that the Chinese economic model is working so well, he will now start selling the U.S., cheap Chinese goods,
out of the trunk of his 1958 Chevy.
September 9th, 2010 at 9:51 pm
Oh my dear Frank, a liberal will never admit he’s failed. His ego won’t allow it. His view of himself held up by years nay decades of concern, by everyone who counts, over his self esteem will not allow him or anyone else to even hint that something he’s done has been less then stellar. After all as someone once said ( in the movie The Incredibles) saying everyone is special is just another way of saying no one is. So keep one watching as the Man who would be god”, continues to destroy everything we hold dear.
How’s that hope and change working for your Huffpo, ABC, CNN et al? The only ones getting any are unions, teachers and illegals. I can’t wait for part two, it ought to be a knee slapper.
September 9th, 2010 at 11:23 pm
50 years from now I’ll be sure to ask him, and if I don’t like his answer, I swear I’ll run him over with my wheel chair!
September 9th, 2010 at 11:36 pm
Some of us never admit it.

Or maybe put Metamusel in his oatmeal, hide his teeth or glue his medication bottle closed.
I like it.

You are all huge idiots. I have to say our president is not strong enough but atleast he can open a door and wants to help the american people.
September 14th, 2010 at 11:57 pm
#27 – ArkAngel,
“our president is not strong enough…’
Strong enough to do what? Assume full dictator-for-life control like Castro?
No thanks.
