Random Thoughts

Buttercup still stares at me with cat-level non-comprehension. Can’t wait until she’s to dog-level comprehension.

I was scared of Obama when I first saw him in 2004. I think liberals are having the same reaction about Rubio. Hopefully Rubio doesn’t end up as absolutely useless.

I was joking back in 2004 when I said Obama would destroy us all. I did not mean to be that prophetic.

Hadn’t watched baseball in a while. Don’t remember it being this painful.

The cat from tonight’s Community was one of the funniest things ever.

Orson Scott Card likes my humor (bottom of article). I once read a comic book adapted from one of his novels!

That cat level non comprehension…would that be the same stare Obama has when someone asks him about economic fundamentals and monetary policy?

You did this to us, Frank! You did this to us!

Random thought: Henry Fonda, a liberal, was always awkward when speaking to women in movies. Typical, eh?

  3. Lolziter says:

Woahhhh, I read one of OSC’s novels in high school. Apparently he’s kind of a big deal as far as literature is concerned… HIGH PRAISE to you for getting HIGH PRAISE from him.

Cats are far smarter than dogs! So, if Buttercup get’s smart as a dog she is regressing! If she is staring at you like a cat she is plotting her revenge right now for you being her father. She’s thinking “of all the coolness out there I’m stuck with total dweeb suckitude, but I shall have the last laugh…Muwahahahahahah”!

  5. Jimmy says:

No Ma’am. We at IMAO don’t have a sense of humor that we’re aware of.

(If you don’t know which movie that’s drawn from, you’re not marginally cultured.)

  6. James says:

At about three months, some switch goes off in a baby’s head and suddenly it’s a person staring back at you. Very cool moment. :)

It’ll be a while yet before she’s able to run around and bark at SarahK because you’ve gotten stuck under the tractor again.

  8. DamnCat says:

What you see in the dog is not comprehension but utter, supine servility – something I hope Buttercup never feels.

  9. MarkoMancuso says:

Jimmy, your sticktoitveness regarding the “marginally cultured” remark impresses me. I hope we both get Nuke The Moon t-shirts.

  10. Jimmy says:

Getting a Nuke The Moon t-shirt: a marginal quest, at best, Marko.

  11. Bantha_Fodder says:

its not non-comprehension from cats, its indifference. Cats just ignore us.

  12. Son of Bob says:

Orson Scott Card said, “Republican attempts at comedy are usually too angry to be funny…This makes it so they can be enjoyed only by people who are angry at the same things”

Umm…okay Scott. Apparently he’s never watched The View.

Cats know they are in charge. Frank, you have been warned.

I’d be worried. That’s not “non-comprehension” if it’s how a cat looks at you.

That’s trying to figure out where to bite you so you die slowly and in great pain.

I see she takes after Dad.

Saw this comment on the Obama thread:

The guy’s on coke. Look at his face! Sorry, I’ve been doing too much lurking on DU. Plus, no one named Obama will EVER be President. Chill!

    If only.

  16. ussjimmycarter says:

Buttercup is looking at you and thinking “hey idiot, I just made a boom boom in my pants and although it feels rather nice it would be helpful if some nitwit would quit staring back and changed my diapers!” “I can’t wait till he changes them, I kept some in reserve and am going to go boom boom as soon as the clean ones are on!” “Muwahahahahahah”! Muwhahahahahah! MUWAHAHAHAHAAH!

Someone needs to introduce OSC to http://www.rightnetwork.com/

“Buttercup still stares at me with cat-level non-comprehension.”

Actually, while my wife is away at work during the day, I have discovered that several of our cats enjoy participating in lively discussion of current events and

philosophy. Sometimes we end up debating a point of view. If I feel that I am losing the argument, I throw catnip mice around the room, causing them to lose

their train of thought. I know it’s cheating, but who wants to be outsmarted by a cat?

    Random thought:

Our guy in WV has it figured out. He’s got Ted Nugent and Sarah Palin stumping for him Saturday.

Why the hell didn’t we think of that and start up a Uncle Tedly and Sarah Palin bus tour about two weeks ago…

We could have sealed up the Harry Reid coffin, the Jerry Brown coffin, the Barbara Boxer coffin, a “that Coons guy” coffin…..

  20. John M. says:

Cat and dog level non-comprehension? Wait until you’re on the receiving end of teenage daughter level non-comprehension! Thank God my two daughters are now in their twenties.

  21. Sam says:

Orson Scott Card’s books are pretty much awesome. I didn’t know he read the most awesome blog ever, though – I guess I should have known.
