Harvey, you failed to mention that the first Capital of Illinois was located at Kaskaskia. The town grew to hate the happenings in the rest of the state so badly that it jumped the Mississippi river in 1840. Today it is the only portion of Illinois that is West of the Mississippi.

Illinois currently has two former governors in prison for corruption. Their prospects for reform look good since, having left the state capital, they now associate with much better class of people.
