What Goes Boom In California?

People from all over El Dorado County in California say they’re hearing loud booms several times a week, but no one knows what’s causing them.

Probably liberal heads exploding from imagining how the Vice Presidential debates are going to go.

  3. October 11? Durn! That’s the night of our local Friends of the NRA banquet! Let me see … NRA & good food or watching Ryan turn Biden in to a crying, quivering p***y … decisions, decisions.

  4. I lived in CA for four years. I heard at least one of the booms. We thought at the time that it might be a fighter breaking the sound barrier, but if I recall corerectly, it turned out to be a minor earthquake.

  5. Actually, from this article from the People’s Cube, just above where the comments start, there is a picture that might explain that.

On the other hand, if California broke off of the U.S. and started floating around in the Pacific Ocean and somehow adventures occurred, sort of like when the Moon broke out of orbit in the old TV show “Space: 1999” ( http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=8jAlE_HLDj8 , Warning: this is a 53 minute Youtube, it WILL take a while to load), that would be cool. But I’m pretty sure Physics wouldn’t allow that to happen, any more than it would allow Guam to tip over. Rats.

  6. I think the last picture in this article from The People’s Cube might explain the booms:

Of course, if those booms were the sound of California detaching itself from the U.S.A., so it could go floating around in the Pacific Ocean with adventures occurring, sort of like when the Moon left orbit in the old TV show “Space: 1999 ( http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=8jAlE_HLDj8 . WARNING! This is a 53 minute Youtube, it WILL take a while to load.), that would be cool. But I’m pretty sure Physics wouldn’t allow that to happen, any more than letting Guam tip over.
