Veterans Day 2012
It was a veteran, not a reporter,
Who guaranteed freedom of the press.
It was a veteran, not a poet,
Who guaranteed freedom of speech.
It was a veteran, not a campus organizer,
Who guaranteed freedom to demonstrate.
It was a veteran, not a minister,
Who guaranteed freedom to worship.
It was a veteran, not a salesman,
Who guaranteed freedom to own property.
It was a veteran, not a travel agent,
Who guaranteed freedom to travel.
It was a veteran, not a politician,
Who guaranteed freedom to vote.
It is a veteran who salutes the Flag,
Risks it all for the Flag,
And who is buried beneath the Flag.

why do we never see articles/comments from veterans,
thanking the “seemingly endless supply of comrades”
for pissing America away ?
after all, theirs is a full time, life long pursuit.

50 years of fighting communism in the 20th century only to see it take the White House in the 21st. What a waste.

Very true.
The one accomplishment liberals can take credit for is that – armed with fellow liberal lawyers – they fought for the right to be “offended.”
And that one accomplishment has done more to destroy America than any foreign army ever could.

As an active military member, I am sometimes disheartened by the swine that pass for decision makers in this nation, then I look at my family, my town I grew up in and think, half the country is good and worth fighting for. Those other jellyfish may get a free ride, but the backbone that makes this country great deserves a little defending.

Thanks for your service Crazyjetguy (even if Jet refers to NY Jets and not flying jets).
Thanks to all veterans!

It’s in relation to aircraft. My brother is a jets fan though. (Shudder)
