I think it’s funny that, for all their bluster about wanting “separation of church and state,” the left always tries to set their politicians up as messianic figures who will descend from the heavens to save us from our miserable selves.

I heard a while back on the radio about the “God part of the brain,” where most of us are supposedly hard-wired to believe in something greater, God, if you will. Atheists are supposed to lack this region, or have a much less-developed region (or, being more advaned, have naturally-selected it away). I don’t know how true it is or isn’t, but it certainly seems to me that, liberals, in choosing to turn away from an absolute moral authority in the form of Deity, are constantly looking for a Deity in the form of a savior figure, of which Barry is but the most recent incarnation.

I doubted the concept at the time, but as I grow older and observe more, I have begun to think there is some validity to it, be it evolved or created.
