Far Cry 3 awesome game, but if you have not played Far Cry 2 you are missing an even better game!

I want to get a clean install of Skyrim so I can get the good mods and stuff that have come out in the last year, and use the mod manager. I last played before they put out the mod tools, so all my mods are installed directly into the game files (and directly written into the .ini stuff). Does the Steam cloud synch up all game files, or just the save data? That’s important.

Right now I’m mostly into The Secret World and Star Trek Online. Occasionally I’ll boot up FTL: Faster Than Light when I want something quicker and simpler. The last Steam Sale hasn’t really done anything for me.

A kewl shoot-em-up, or slice and dice em with swords and knives, or use both guns and blades! (My description, theirs is much more cautious.)

Both are free to play (until you hit a paywall), and fun as heck! Just stay outta the PVP areas until you’re not a sitting duck for those 7 y/o kids who WILL happily kick your hiney.

Good family sorcery or gun, and blade fun.

Yeah, I miss it sometimes. My boys and I used to have contests to see who could make it to the end level the fastest (I never won). I remember being more hooked on Descent, however, which played really well on an IBM machine I had bought in ’95, the first year I hooked to the actual Internet. I also remember being on Compuserve in the early 90′s on an 80286 machine with 80 Megs of hard disk. Then there was the first Z80 machine I built in 1978…

Whoa… I’m dating myself here. I’d rather date someone else…

Jimmy – I just played Doom again last year. It’s still as much fun as you remember it being. It may not have sparkly graphics, but then again, with Doom, it was always all about the gameplay.

Well, you will at some point, Frank, when your kids get older. I went through that stage in the 90's with my two. We were Doom and Descent crazy back then - even me. Seems like we played every day. Today, I don't play anything as my fingers have curled-up into little, round stubs that just barely fit coffee mugs and ale bottles (where they amazingly stretch back out to normal size and shape, for some reason).

Was at a retirement home recently, and they had a Wii. I assume the generation that grew up playing games will have more.

Already played Bastion and liked it (got it in a Humble Bundle) and loved the Mass Effect series, especially how my choices compounded throughout the trilogy.

I have the same “problem” of a bunch of Humble Bundle games sitting around I still haven’t got to.

For me it’s the Humble Indie Bundle games that are piling up. I just bought the latest one and I still haven’t finished any of the previous bundle. Ah well, such is the life of a (semi-)responsible adult. Maybe I’ll convert to liberalism so I could in good (lack of) conscience sit home and play video games all day, let the rest of you pay for raising my kid. . . .

Nah, I think I’ll choose dignity.
