To fix its doctor shortage, California plans to let nurses, pharmacists, and optometrists practice medicine.

Coming soon: little girls with roadside booths saying “Psychiatric Help: 5¢”.

The roadside booths will be fine as long as they aren’t lemonade stands.

Why not? They’ve already got Snoopy (i.e., Bloomberg) and Woodstock (every other lib) on their team.

Janet Napolitano, of course, would be the one gripping the Homeland Security blanket.

    Hahaha! Pretty much!

No, not nurses. Nurse Practitioners. BIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIG difference. Not the same thing.

That said, I can’t wait for an optometrist to try and give a woman a pelvic exam. That’ll go well. “Hey ma’am, I need to take a closer look……”

  7. CarolyntheMommy says:

Super excited about pharmacists as PCPs since I asked a pharmacist about using Theraflu while pregnant and they said, “We can’t answer, you have to ask a physician.” Greeeeeeeeeeeeat.

    It’s only California…who cares?

  9. CTCompromise says:

…..And with a plethera of lawyers in California, what could possibly go wrong??!

  10. CTCompromise says:

Optometrists…of course, because of the unbelievable increase in cataract problems in patients as young as 12 since the legalization of “medical marijuana”. OOOOOHHH ! I just can’t wait until ObamaCare has the whole country running as well as California !

  11. Zaklog the Great says:

Yeah, unless Obamacare gets derailed, this is the whole country’s future. How did these morons get put in charge?

  12. jw says:

and to think i wasted all those years in doctor school.

  13. CarolyntheMommy says:

The nice thing about Obamacare is that it helped me in the nick of time: I was applying to med schools when it passed, but I don’t have to worry about that now! Every physician I know is telling me to run, not walk, away from med school.
