Before the collapse of the Soviet Union, the SPLC was designated as a COMMUNIST front group. It was ran by a couple of COMMUNISTS, Anne and Carl Braden, who were COMMUNIST CPUSA members.

Propaganda from the SPLC frequently appears in the COMMUNIST Party’s offical newspaper. It is a COMMUNIST organization.

Anyone who uses COMMUNIST propaganda from a COMMUNIST organization is also a COMMUNIST

Love that last line, Frank J.: “Or you’ll end up just like the liberals, even if spouting different views.” As the Lion said, “Ain’t it the truth! Ain’t it the truth.” All too often we do wind up looking like our enemies. Personally, I don’t want to look or think like a liberal.

Folk Devils? Emotional Frenzy? I think I saw those bands open for The Chesterfield Kings at a Punk/Psych festival in Cambridge back in the summer of '83. Jeff Connoly from The Lyres sat in on Farfisa with The Folk Devils and nearly beat the drummer senseless with his drum throne for missing the intro on Baby Elephant Walk. The lead singer from Emotional Frenzy set her mohawk on fire before spilling bottles of Rolling Rock all over herself as she sang Psychotic Reaction. I miss good live punk shows.

Their outrage isn’t really outrage, it’s part of a psychological manipulation technique used to push their agenda. They generate what is called a moral panic. They identify “folk devils” (talk radio, the Koch brothers, the NRA etc.) whom they demonize, then call for immediate action to resolve the crisis. The goal is to whip up an emotional frenzy in order to shut down debate and get people to act without thinking about the actual ramifications of the proposed “solutions.”

Just as it was easy for Kirk and co. to blend in to the world of evil Spock, so too is it easy to sound like a liberal. Feign outrage at the 1% causing global warming with their tanks and nukes, and greedy banks. then curse those who wear fur and drive cars that don’t plug in and scream that it is for the children. Then when you are done put on your leather jacket, toss your roach into the gutter with your pierre bottle, then pick up your welfare check, get in your Suburban and speed off to starbucks.

Oh yeah,ahem, I am outraged that someone noticed the faux outrage of our outragessness. Or something.
