That reminds me of a story my dad told us.
He, his brothers, and a few friends were having a campfire long, long ago when they decided to fill a balloon with acetylene from their dads welding kit and throw it in the fire.
It went Whoomp! in a big ball of fire.
“That was Awesome!” (or “That was the Bees Knees!” – long ago, remember?) they said, “Let’s do it again!”
“Wait!”, my uncle Tony said. “Let’s do it right this time!”
So, in order to ‘do it right’, they adjusted the acetylene torch valves to the perfect mix of acetylene and oxygen – a clear, blue, hotter than hell pencil of flame – shut off the gases at the tank valves, attached a party balloon to the nozzle, opened up the gas valves and filled the balloon with that perfect balance of gas and oxygen.
It blew. the. campfire. OUT.
