    Dream on…………..

  2. Jimmy says:

    ***Breaking***

Senator Rand Paul to assume the Presidency by acclamation! Barack Obama to move to the Vatican. More at 11:00.

  3. Cliff says:

    …and take over Venezuela

  4. Doug says:

That satire is mean and hateful.
To be funny there has to be a little truth to it.

However, centuries old prophecy proclaims the next Pope to be the last (before you know what). So it could very well be Pope Hussein. Everyone would have to kiss his Muslim ring and convert.
But he won’t step down. POTUS has more power and perks than Pope.

  5. Carpenter says:

Satire indeed seeing how Obama was never legally elected nor is he eligible for the office of the Presidency. He could, however, step down from being an Illegal Alien by turning himself over to the Immigration authorities

  6. seanmahair says:

You shouldn’t tease like that. In a perfect world this would not be satire.

  7. Lactose the Intolerant says:

@4. Didn’t intend for it to be mean and hateful. Was trying to riff on Obama’s narcissism and general disdain for and lack of understanding of religion in general and all those bitter clingers with faith. Did I go to far? Discuss.

I know what you meant, and I can see how the fearless reader would want a post where he’s considered infallible, but don’t the Catholics have enough problems already?
On the other hand, It would get him out of the United States, and then he’d be mainly the Italians problem … hmmm….

  9. Bunkerhillbilly says:

…don’t the Catholics have enough problems already?

    No. Not really.

A minority of priests and other ranking ecclesiasticals have violated their vows. Some purposefully, as militants hoping to cast aspersions and doubt within the Church amongst the faithful, along with denigrating its standing in the eyes of non-Catholics. These hypocrites, having sworn falsely, are being rooted out.

This in no way means that all priests, etc. are violators.

The Faith itself, Catholicism, is just fine, and has been for centuries.

    Obama as Pope?

The whatiffery of that premise is, without doubt, ludicrous.

Were it to happen…would truly be a herald of the Apocalypse.

Reality, as currently in flimsy practice, dictates that there will not be a Pope Barack, nor a Jewish pope or pope from The Missouri Synod or Pennsylvania Amish communities.

The Irish are due their turn, and a Pope Seamus-Padraig would be nice to see.

Sorry, 7. It was satire. I should have thrown in a : ). I actually enjoyed your piece.

  11. Doug says:

Again, 7. I was thinking of the title, “Obama to step down.” Playing along with the saying, that there has to be a certain amount of truth for things to be funny and finding no truth to the statement I satirically (as 6 was thinking) treated it as disappointing, except in the extreme, for the humor. Humor is in the mind of the beholder and not all beholders see the thought intended. It reminds me of Homer Simpson on the phone, being sarcastic to his boss and winking into the phone. Marge informs Homer that his boss (being on the phone) does not see him winking. Homer panics and hangs up. I was winking, you just didn’t see it. ; ) I’ll hang up now.

@11. No worries. I have a really thick hide. It’s tough to offend me, and I know I often have a tendency not to tread lightly, so I do at times cause offense. But I agree that it is really hard to get tone across in writing. I just thought maybe you were a Catholic and I offended you.
