A Word for Everything

I was thinking: We really need a new word that means everything. That used to be the word “universe” — it was a word specifically made to mean “everything there is” but now there’s talk of multiple universes so the word has lost its purpose. I want a word that means all there is or ever will be — whether we know of it or not or could ever possibly comprehend it. I.e., “No matter how much science advances, the extend of its knowledge will only cover an infinitesimal of the [blank].”

Don’t have a suggestion yet, but I’ll work on it. Just really seems like a word our language needs and is missing.

  1. We bitter clingers refer to all of Creation, which includes not only all physical things, but the spirit world as well (“heaven and earth, and all that is seen and unseen”). (The lefties recoil in horror.)

I’VE SEEN THE INFINITE, said the stranger. IT’S NOTHING SPECIAL.
    The holy man glanced around.
“Don’t be daft,” he said. “You can’t see the Infinite, ‘Cos it’s infinite.
    I HAVE.
“All right, what did it look like?”
    IT’S BLUE.
    ” ‘s black,” he muttered.
NOT, said the stranger, WHEN SEEN FROM THE OUTSIDE. THE NIGHT SKY IS BLACK. BUT THAT IS JUST SPACE. INFINITY, HOWEVER IS BLUE.
    “What kind of blue, anyway?”

  3. You’d, like that, wouldn’t you? To just have one word, one simple word that would encapsulate the total sum of all stuff, non-stuff, thought, unthought, imagined, not yet imagined, never to be imagined, conceived, inconceivable, and all the inside and outside, right? You want a simple neat little package word to describe what you deem as everything, even if you don’t even deem it anything.

But you conservatives are all the same, you want simple little black and white, single word solutions. Well sorry, that’s not how it works.

  4. So yesterday you could “think outside the box.”

Now you want to just make the box bigger, so that those “outside the box” thoughts are now inside the box?

    What next? Just wondering.
