Obama Warned Us – How Long?

Posted on April 30, 2013 2:00 pm

From the day I took office, I’ve been told that addressing our larger challenges is too ambitious; such an effort would be too contentious. I’ve been told that our political system is too gridlocked, and that we should just put things on hold for a while. For those who make these claims, I have one simple question: How long should we wait? How long should America put its future on hold?

BARACK OBAMA, State of the Union Address, Jan. 27, 2010

I’ll say 2016. Does 2016 work for you guys?

As long as it takes to close Guantanamo,
give final approval to the Keystone Pipeline,
    explain what happened in Benghazi,
    respond to Fast & Furious subpoenas . . .

Would it be asking too much to hope for a veto overriding majority in both houses in 2014?

I’m with Marc. 2014. We can start undoing disastrous legislation and overriding executive orders. Maybe I can stop apologizing to my Alberta friends for that pipeline debacle too.
