Deja vu – Are you old enough to remember the “what was it like before they invented TV” conversations?

  2. Oppo says:

I was with some young coworkers the other day and said that I could remember when ATMs were the great new innovation, freeing us from lines at the bank and allowing us to access cash outside of banking hours.

To say they looked at me not understanding what I was talking about would be putting it mildly.

O! Do you remember when the lady backed over the man on purpose? Was it on The Edge of Night or As the World Turns?

(I think the man was John, which would mean it was As the World Turns.)

  4. Dohtimes says:

And not so long ago many, even highly populated areas had their Blue Laws, with almost no businesses open on Sunday except restaurants and convenience stores. Imagine, today, whole shopping malls closed for half of the weekend, no beer runs and three channels on the television.

Does anybody remember actually reading books, playing tag, cowboys and indians, war games, dodge ball, etc.?

  6. CCO says:

Hey, I just finished up a Christopher Anvil short collection I picked up used, The Trouble With Humans.

    And kickball was the best.
