Back in MY Day…

…we didn’t have fancy computer games to idle away the hours with. We had to hand-crank our time-wasters, and by gum, that’s the way we liked it!

    That’s a bit like the Einstein admonition regarding doing the same thing over and over again and expecting a different result.

    I liked the little T-shaped toggles that kept the marbles from going down the same path every time.
    Now if they could have rigged little bells to it at different points, they might have been able to play a tune!
    Oh wait, that’s called a music box!
    It’s still cool though!

    Meaning no offense, I’m not sure which is worse – the time wasted playing with the thing or the time wasted creating it. Or possibly the time wasted commenting on it. It is sort of a low tech Rube Goldberg device.

    @3 Doug – no offense taken. For me, though, I find the contemplation of an elegant yet simple mechanical device to be time well-spent, in small doses. I enjoy admiring other people’s creativity.
