Random Thoughts: Climate Science, Hillary, and NYT’s Pay Discrimination

All other animals love people because we’re so smart.

One of the problems about arguments on marriage is there’s nothing logical about marriage and thus there’s no common point to start from.

It’s sort of annoying coming up with a really clever line for a novel knowing it could be years before anyone sees it.

How did people operate back when it took more than seconds to go from thought in your head to broadcast to the world?

George R.R. Martin can’t get his writing done because his brother Steve won’t stop playing the banjo.

499 days until I do something, then.

One of the things that hurt people arguing against climate change is that the most emphatic are often the least knowledgable.

This happens when science becomes political. The “pro-science” are often just excited idiots who have no idea what they’re talking about.

If you know little about science, I’d say it’s wiser to doubt it than to be completely credulous about it.

Trust me; I’m a scientist (for all you know).

Climate change must be a much bigger issue in the Star Wars universe where all the planets are used to just one climate.

Will a brain-damaged Hillary be better or worse on economic issues than Obama?

Hopefully Hillary doesn’t think to compare her paycheck to Obama’s after she’s elected president.

So does the NYTimes still need a new executive editor? I think I remember how to diagram a sentence; is that a necessary skill for it?

I will demand man-level pay.

Maybe the NYTimes should stop writing editorials and just all sit in a room quietly checking their privilege. Very quietly.

Hey, what new left-wing dribble does the NYTimes have for us that they love to spout but deep down don’t actually believe?

If the NYTimes published just a few more editorials on equal pay for women, they might have warmed up to the notion.

Those who live in glass houses with glass ceilings shouldn’t throw stones.

New NYT Editorial: “Hillary Clinton should be elected president and paid 30% less.”

NYT:”When looking at the entire compensation package, we paid Abramson the same as her predecessor… but you know how women are with math.”

Paul Krugman should be able to explain why paying Jill Abramson less helped her earn more.

Media latches on to every crazy thing some Republican says but ignored that the ’03 Dem platform praised the cancellation of Firefly.

“All other animals love people because we’re so smart.” And tasty.

“Media latches on to every crazy thing some Republican says but ignored that the ’03 Dem platform praised the cancellation of Firefly.” This one is actually probably true.

“How did people operate back when it took more than seconds to go from thought in your head to broadcast to the world?” They kept their jobs, for one thing.

As for one climate per planet in Star Wars — hey, where did Hoth get all that oxygen from? No plant life. Was it Balloon Planet Hoth, leaking oxygen through a system of caves?

I just thought up a great campaign add for Hillary: Elect Hillary Clinton– she’ll only cost us 74% of what a male President would cost.

but she’ll steal the furniture again when she leaves

Well, with all that brain damage, she can stay right in the White House for her ‘vacations’ (because she won’t know the difference) which will save MILLIONS (possibly BILLIONS). And Bill can have a field day with White House interns, which doesn’t cost much either.

Procreation is logical. And fun. Painful, too. And without it, we’d be left subsidizing dogs and cats living together… mass hysteria!
