And the guy leading the charge, Abu Bakr al-Baghdadi, was released by Obama in 2009 after four years the Bucca prison camp for Iraqi insurgents – a fact conveniently omitted by NBC Nightly News last night.
Yeah, and the five terrorists we just traded for a deserter don’t pose a threat.
Unfortunately Harvey we no longer fight wars in the manner you describe. Would that we did, but we don’t. Remember Fallujah? During WW2 we would have just carpet bombed a place like Fallujah off the face of the planet. Now We’re worried about “collateral damage” ( I think there might have been some at Hiroshima) or the “opinions of the Europeans.” We fret about “the word on Arab street” and “our popularity in the UN” and what will our “NATO allies say.” Then of course we have to be concerned with the nation’s howling screaming leftist anti war types…”Bush lied and people died, this war is just for the oil!” So we now fight wars with one hand tied behind our back and wonder why we continually end up on the losing side even after spending billions of dollars and putting the lives of our best and bravest in mortal jeopardy. And we elect people like Obama. So that is why I hope we stay out of this mess this time. As far as I’m concerned the Sunnis and Shia can kill as many of each other as they possibly can and I couldn’t care less. And that is why I must respectfully disagree with you.
The major chaos going on in moderate Muslim lands today is the result of Obama’s foreign policies. The people he is aiding to overthrow Syria are the same people he aided to overthrow Egypt and Libya and who are overthrowing Iraq today. Their leader was released by Obama in 2009. Obama has just recently released five more terrorist leaders.
What can go wrong?
I have to agree with #2 Harvey except he didn’t go far enough. We would need a glass highway starting in Iraq and heading to Iran linking to all the sights used for the the production of enriched uranium, missile sites, military sites etc.
