It is sad and frustrating that we can’t get the gun nuts to take more responsibility with their weapons.

I always wondered what his thinking behind downsizing the military was about.

  5. Jimmy says:

Yeah, and no one has ever managed to keep knives, hammers, rocks, sticks and even automobiles out of similar hands, Mr. Know-It-All President.

Is it just me, or is he DONE? His administration is collapsing. He needs to resign.

You have a valid point Jimmy. In this country anyone can buy a knife without so much as showing one piece of ID. I’m talking deadly assault knives, some with blades up to twelve inchs in length!! Why would anyone need an “assault knife” with a twelve inch blade? Why does anyone need a knife with a blade over two inches in length? What we need in this country are comprehensive, common sense knife laws to safe guard all of us. This situation couldn’t occur if the Republican Party wasn’t controlled by the big knife manufacturing companies and the knife nuts at the National Knife Association. We need knife background checks, a three day waiting period, mandatory knife safes, no knife over two inches without a government permit. We could start by demanding much needed signs around our schools that say “this is a knife free zone” and our movement can build from there. After all…it’s for the children™.

    +2 to Jimmy and zzyzx.

I won’t repeat how ridiculously bored I am of JMJ. You’d think the taxpayers’ NSA budget could buy us a better intern.

  9. Jimmy says:

@7 zzyzx: Okay, you made me laugh. Years ago in my teens, I was riding a Seattle Metro bus home from school. There was this kid who apparently didn’t like my face and was acting like all tough and such and apparently was fond of picking fights in public.

He got bolder and said to me, “We play with knives.”

And I said, “What do you want, a medal?”

I stared him down and he shut up. Apparently, my face can do that.

    Even faces are weapons!

Nobody has yet to suggest exactly how one will take weapons away from criminals. Go ahead, pass a law, require everyone to turn in their scary weapon of the day. Criminals will just not do it. I’ve been unable to figure out if the failure to understand this basic truth is due to a lack of intelligence or a lack of critical thinking skills (or perhaps a combination of the two).
