Thursday Night Open Thread

I was going to write something, but I haven’t finished watching all the new episodes of MST3K. Yeah, I had to subscribe to The Netflix to watch them. So, I’m kinda on a schedule.

If you want to watch it, too, just fire up The Netflix, then log on The Twitter and be sure to tell everything that happens. Don’t worry about spoilers; they’ll get over it.

Or… you could post a link to something you want to share, tell a joke, comment on something, whatever’s on your mind. It’s Thursday Night Open Thread.

    • Then this would be Saturday Eve Eve – and all through the house, not a commenter was stirring, not even a louse. The comments were posted on the blog with care, in hopes that Frank J. soon would be there. What the frack?

      • Heh…

        The commenters were nestled all snug in their beds;

        While visions of Selene-bombs danced in their heads;

        Obama in his kerchief and my MAGA cap,

        And Clinton had settled their differences after a long winter’s nap,

        When on the East Lawn there arose such a clatter,

        I sprang from my bed to see what was the matter.

        Away to the window I flew like a flash,

        Tore open the Shouters who blew all their cash.

        But the media and the upper crust, and new Fallon’s “No.”

        Gave a lustre of Midway to objections below.

        • The commenters were settled all smug in their heads;
          While visions fission bombs danced in their heads,
          Congress in their stupor and folk smokin’ their smack,
          Wondering when they’d hear that thunderous crack.
          And what, at the new dawn did appear?
          But a big mushroom cloud and an incredible cheer.

  1. Re: MST3K: I’ve only watched the first episode so far, but my thoughts are: Jonah is like Joel vs. Mike extreme, the bots’ voices are all off, the sets looks even cheaper than the original, and Tom’s flying in the theater is fairly gimmicky… but the riffs are pretty funny, so I’ll give it a pass anyway.

    • When Josh left, they did a whole thing of Joel working on Tom’s voice. Kevin did many voices before settling on the one with which we all became familiar. It helped that Josh’s Tom sounded like Josh trying to imitate Kevin.

      When Bill took over, the storyline was that Crow had returned from being light bubble shortly after they transformed, and had been alone for so long.

      Some explanation would have been good.

      I’m planning a post on the new series, but (spoilers) the conclusion will be a lot like your assessment.
